Publisher's summary

An internationally famous photographer, Tucker Mason has traveled the world, capturing things other people don’t see. But what Tucker can’t see is how to let go of his traumatic childhood and forgive his father.

On a sprawling Southern estate, Tucker and his younger brother, Mutt, were raised by their housekeeper, Miss Ella Rain, who loved the motherless boys like her own. Hiring her to take care of Waverly Hall and the boys was the only good thing their abusive and alcoholic father ever did.

When his brother escapes from a mental hospital and an old girlfriend appears with her son and a black eye, Tucker is forced to return home and face the agony of his tragic past.

Though Miss Ella has been gone for many years, Tucker can still hear her voice - and her prayers. "Life is a battle, but you can’t fight it with your fists. You got to fight it with your heart." But finding peace and starting anew will take a measure of grace that Tucker scarcely believes in.

Wrapped in Rain follows Tucker’s journey from brokenness to healing through the everlasting power of love.

Praise for Wrapped in Rain:

"Charles Martin is changing the face of inspirational fiction one book at a time. Wrapped in Rain is a sentimental tale that is not to be missed." (Michael Morris, author of A Place Called Wiregrass and Live Like You Were Dying)

"This is the story of a real person’s real struggle with the uncertainties of faith, unadorned with miracles of the deus ex machina sort but full of the sort of miracles that attend everyday life if you bother to notice. Charles Martin notices, and for that I commend him. He’s unafraid of tackling the crucial questions - life, death, love, sacrifice." (Duncan Murrell, editor and writer)

Never Dissapointed in a Charles Marin Story.

The man knows how to write! This book had great character build up and a different story that ultimately shows that forgiveness is for all parties.

Simply breath taking

I love the way Charles Martin writes his words are so beautiful elegant and gentle . You see God without being slammed in the face with God.

It was a decent listen -

Not great but decent. I think I would have liked the story better with a different narrator. I did like the spiritual part of the book, and refreshing to not have bad language.

Wrapped in Rain

Another outstanding story/book by Charles Martin. This man has a talent for telling a story of life. What I like the most about his books is the fact that he is not afraid to include our Almighty Lord and Savior, God Almighty in his grasping stories of life love and belief. Great story!

Better than a Hallmark Original

Beautifully woven tapestry of love with the threads stretching from childhood to present. At times I had to blink away tears at the injustices, but more often the catch in my throat was from witnessing how love truly does win in the end. I wish we all had a Momma Ella in our corner.

Wrapped in Rain is like a river of living water

This story, written from the perspective of an adult/child, whom God protected through the family maid, reveals how God uses all circumstances for the good of his beloved and his glory. If anyone wonders what it means to live out your faith, Miss Ellie will show you through her tender, yet fierce protection of two young boys not related to her. She wove God’s precepts into everything she she did out of love, including being willing to give up her life for them if necessary. So deep did her influence penetrate their souls, that remembering her words, God’s words, lead to their restoration and freedom from all that had imprisoned them. Beautiful,

get out the Kleenex!

wow! such a touching story that I cried over and over again! as usual, Mr Martin's characters are intricate and believable. although there is certainly an element of romantic love , the primary love in this story is that of family... not family by blood necessarily, but the family you choose. that's a beautiful message! our biological family may injure and wound us deeply, as the father in this story did, but you can choose to heal from that and find other family. and Mr Martin conveyed all of this without profanity or vulgarity! awesome! although others complained about the narrator, I recognized him as the voice of my deep Southern upbringing. given that the story takes place in the deep south, his inflections and pace are congruent with the story. as for concerns about the narrator not "voicing" the various characters more distinctly, I found this to be an unfounded criticism. all in all, well worth your time!!!
