Three fun, cute stories

This is the perfect listen if you need a little change of pace from high angst and hard subject matter to something fun and cute. I highly enjoyed listening and found myself chuckling several times. One of the narrator's, PJ Wood, was new to me, but they all did a great job bringing out the personalities of the female leads in each story. While this isn't as much of an emotional rollercoaster this author is so skilled at bringing us, it doesn't lack in all the good feels that make you smile and think, this was exactly what I needed, lighthearted, fun, some steamy moments and happily ever after endings for all.

Dreams Do Come True, When You Least Expect It

This is a wish fulfillment anthology in that I think almost every woman at one time or another has fantasized about finding her dream man in unusual or unexpected circumstances, even if she couldn't visualize exactly how it might happen. I mean, how cool is it to have the men in each story become or already be so intrigued by the women in their worlds? And these ladies aren't glamour girls, impossibly beautiful and perfectly put together all the time. They are doing the best they can, doing what it takes to live life, to navigate the pitfalls in their seemingly ordinary lives. Their stories are realistic; you feel for them, understand them -- maybe you are them. And then, here come the men who see more in them than they see in themselves,

Each story packs a lot into just a few chapters, and while I usually want even more when I'm loving a book and it's characters, never quite ready to let them go, they all felt perfectly complete as they were. The bonus scenes in each one just added more icing onto an already beautiful cake. That speaks volumes to D.L. Lane's talent and skill as an author, and her ability to make her audiences feel so much so quickly, but not make them feel rushed or as though something is missing.

All three narrators were spot on in their portrayals. I felt their connections to and their investments in every moment. This anthology marks the first time I've heard each of them, and it will not be the last! Beautiful job, one and all!
