Publisher's summary
Adam awakens in a deadly new world after decades instead of the much shorter time he was expecting. Together with the Artificial Intelligence that inhabits a carbon based nanotube computer installed in his brain he must fight his way across a post-apocalyptic landscape. Along the way he rescues a wolfdog pup he names Roe. The three companions face dangers from mutated animals and humans, as well as a deadly environment. Adam and Roe gain in strength and skill as they become more battle hardened. All the while the A.I. (Nan) becomes more and more human.
During their journey the three are successful in helping others and righting many wrongs. However, they decide that survival and helping a limited number of people is not enough. They want and need more and have the genetic enhancements to achieve it. With a new sense of purpose they commit to using their gifts in pursuit of a greater dream.

Kings of the Apocalypse: The King Family Trilogy and Adam II: A Post-Apocalyptic Trilogy are both stand-alone trilogies and can be read independently. However, the storylines are parallel narratives that are closely interconnected and are best understood and appreciated if the Adam II trilogy is read first. The King siblings are the products of illegal genetic engineering research that was intended to augment their abilities. Dr. Adam Markham was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. He only had a few months to live when he was offered the opportunity to participate in a scientific study being conducted by a top research company. If the study was a success he would be cured of his cancer and his body would approach genetic perfection. If unsuccessful he would die. He felt it was worth the risk since he would die in a few months anyway. What he didn't expect is that the suspended animation would last for years. When he awakened he was cured of his cancer and thanks to genetic engineering had been gifted with ...

It has been a year since the initial outbreak of an infection resulting from a failed terrorist attack. No corner of the globe was spared. Millions simply died during the early days of the outbreak, many more survived with most of those survivors turned into permanently brain-damaged feral creatures. All forms of modern society had collapsed, governments no longer functioned, and electric lights and running water become a thing of the past. A handful of survivors with natural immunity to the virus are alone in a world that now belongs to the infected. Hunter Ashcroft, a wounded vet of the ...

There is a terrible danger she, and her friends and family, will lose the only home she has ever known, and be forced to live on the slum ball Earth below. It's more than an almost fourteen year old should have to deal with. Fortunately she has a lot of smart friends and allies. It's a good thing because things get very rough and dicey. Story
Normalcy ceased to exist in the United States the instant the Iranian EMP warheads detonated, relieving America of its abundant luxuries and conveniences. The event pushed the entire country backward in a millisecond. Backward in time to the mid-1800s—to a lifestyle that preceded the telephone and, for most, even the use of a simple lightbulb.

Virtual voice didn’t work so well. It would sound like speaking into a tube every couple of minutes. Keep real folks employed.
Started out as a pretty good post apocalyptic story, last half hour was torture. Would have been better to let them ride off into the sunset

Narration
The AI narrator is absolutely horrible and completely removes you from the story. I tried listening for hours and it became so grating I couldn't even get half way through it.
