Publisher's summary

One feels he’s not worthy of love. The other fears he doesn't know how. But the sizzling chemistry between them has both tempted to explore the unknown.

Cyrus

I was intrigued by Crow at first glance. Who wouldn't be? He's a mountain of a man, who was raised in a cult, and now lives secluded in the wilderness. But the draw I feel to him goes beyond mild interest. When his intense gaze falls my way it feels like he can see into my soul, to my deepest yearnings and desires.

I took a bold chance venturing to his mountain uninvited. But I can't help myself. Despite Crow’s dangerous facade, I feel at home when I’m near him. I've never felt wanted or needed… until the mountain man took me in his arms.

Crow

The mountain is my home, the only place that truly suits me. I reveled in my solitude... until Cyrus showed up looking as lonely as I felt. The warmth in his gaze made me welcome someone into my home and my heart for the very first time.

The way he smells. The way he feels. I come apart with his every touch. The past haunts us both. Yet when we’re together the weight of them is more manageable. Cyrus is mine and I don’t ever want to let him go. Still, I fear eventually he’ll want to leave the mountain... and for the first time in my life, I don’t want to be alone.

heading love

I loved the character development as well as the depth of character. I would've liked to see a bit more out of Crow. some of the sex was strange for me, it was a distraction, but not so much that it ruined the book. it was uniquely them. I loved that they found each other on this great big world, when they were also so very isolated in their own ways. this is one of the better MM books available. I would recommend this as a good read.

I love mountain men

Another solid entertaining story from Riley. I love the possessive trope and this one sure fits the bill.

Fantastic

I love Riley Hart, she has such a amazing way for creating a strong bond between characters in a short amount of time that doesn’t feel rushed or forced. This was such a great book. She does a good job highlighting the struggles of mental health illness in both MCs and the spicy scenes are 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Overall everything I needed in a book and I’m so glad I bought it.

Stellar story and narration

I purchased this audiobook mainly because I love Zane Daniels’ narrations, but let me tell you…wow! This book was amazing. It was beautiful and healing, with a healthy dose of spice.

Crow grew up on the mountain in a cult. His father was the leader and was the expected abusive narcissist who finally ended up going to prison. That was the point when everything kind of imploded, and a young Crow was sent to foster care, which was a terrible experience for him and part of why he wouldn’t speak to anyone, until Cyrus.

Cyrus grew up with a loving, yet drug-addicted mother, and after her overdose, he ultimately turned to drugs himself. After getting out of rehab, he uprooted his life, where he eventually ended up in Crow’s path.

These men were both so broken, in very different ways. These differences were what made them the missing pieces to each other in a way no one else could have been. I love hurt/comfort and when characters just tug on my heart strings, and On the Mountain provided plenty of that. From the trauma and grief they had both endured to Cyrus’ struggle with mental illness, this book was a poignant exploration of the journey of two souls finding love, acceptance, and the freedom to give in to their primal urges.

Zane Daniels did an exceptional job, as always. One of my favorite things was that there would be a slight echo when we were hearing the things Crow couldn’t bring himself to say out loud. At first, I thought it was just some background noise that snuck in, but when it happened again, I realized it was intentional. It added an additional element that really brought the story to life and made it easier to differentiate thoughts versus speech from a character who struggled to voice what was in his head.

Primal and heartfelt

This story was so beautiful. There was so much pain and grief but love and healing as well. It was an amazing story of soulmates finding each other, of primal animalistic love and lust. About healing one another and themselves. Crow has lived a hard life, he was born into a cult, his father the leader, with no other children allowed at the cult, he grew up lonely and with the abuse that comes along with a narcissistic father who runs a cult. He’s been alone on his mountain though for 10 years. The small town of Tranquility doesn’t accept him and makes life hard on him. But Cyrus changes things. Cyrus has also lived a hard life, his mother was an addict but she loved him so incredibly much and he loved her, when she died, he couldn’t cope and he too got sucked into drugs. Now he’s 18 months clean and moved to Tranquility where he feels alone but he’s fighting through. Then he sees Crow and he’s drawn in, he’s completely captivated and curious. He watches how people treat him and one day he steps in. And that day changed the course of their lives. It was a beautiful journey. The connection between these two guys is everything. It’s sensual and erotic, primal and deep. As always, Riley Hart writes a wonderful story that keeps me captivated and intrigued and makes me fall in love with her guys. The audio book was amazing. Zane Daniel’s does an amazing job! He truly brings these guys to life. He gives that growly beast of a man, Crow, the animalistic tone to his voice. All around, this story was great. It was emotional and broke my heart but it heals those wounds by the time the epilogue comes around.

Love Crow & Cyrus

These boys 🥹 I absolutely loved this story. My heart broke for Crow & Cyrus. Neither of them had it easy and the fact that they found each was nothing short of amazing. I’m sad the book is over. I’m really not read to let them go. Amazing narration by Zane Daniels.
