It’s a historic moment, as the country awaits the jury’s verdict in the first ever criminal trial of a former president. To assess the gravity of what each side needed to convey in summations, MSNBC legal analysts Andrew Weissmann and Mary McCord scrutinize the approach to closing arguments by both the defense and the prosecution. Then, they turn to the latest from the Florida documents case, where Judge Cannon and Special Counsel Jack Smith are at odds. The issue: Donald Trump’s ‘lies’ posted and amplified, concerning the search warrants executed on his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022.

Excellent Analysis

Their thoughtful analysis, careful descriptions, and thorough background on the issues make the news and developments digestible and understandable. Their warm banter adds a welcome bit of levity during this long, winding journey. Thank you!

Essential

It's important to find trusted, experienced voices as we move through these important legal cases involving Donald Trump and his coconspirators. Andrew and Mary's years in government and law make them essential to my sources for correct information about the process. I'm grateful that I have the time to read court documents as a retired person and I look to them for explanations and implications of what's happening in these prosecutions. This is a good podcast to choose if you want this information but don't have time to listen to a bunch of them. They are good teachers and good citizens.

The best podcast

My go-to for all things newsworthy. I know the truth when I hear it though what does that mean anymore? I count on you to fill in the blanks where my MCAT score doesn’t help, hmm most of the time.
Thank you both so much!

Great commentators

I understand the indictments and charges against Trump and his followers so much more after listening to this podcast. Each charge is broken down into easy to understand language. Every American needs to listen and learn what happened and what is at stake if these events happen again.
