A childhood tragedy sets the heroine on her life track to study geology, specializing in earthquakes. Unfortunately she's still subject to panic attacks in the dark, reluctant to revisit the area where her parents were killed in an earthquake and flood when she was six, and of course, that's becoming the most important area for her to be.
