Maureen Lang's son has the illness so she knows exactly what the characters feel like. I think that I liked Rebecca best of all the characters as she is the one I am the most like. I did not like Simon at all at first but he soon showed a different side. Lang's prose is at times very beautiful and her descriptions are wonderful.
