I am a lover of France and the French language. I enjoyed this audiobook partly because of the narrator speaking so much French in such an authentic a..Show More »ccent and also because I have been that girl who tells a white lie to get what she wants and then ends up paying dearly. The story held my attention and I looked forward to listening to it each time I had time.
I enjoyed this book. The previous book left me wanting to know what would happen when Linda went to Paris. It was interesting to see the struggles s..Show More »he goes through, the people she meets, as well as her discovery of what she does (or does not) want to do for the rest of her life (her goal was to learn French so she could be flight attendant for an international airline). I have to say that I could completely relate to her struggles with men and money in another country, and having to fall back on family. I liked that the author put a blurb at the end of the book that told how things happened when she finally came back to the US, and how her relationships that she formed in France continued (or didn't) once she came home. I listened to the Audible audio version of the book narrated by Lucy Floyd, and I thought she was really good. Her pacing, characters voices, and accents were excellent. If you enjoy memoirs or would like to know what its like to live in a foreign country for an extended amount of time, I recommend giving this book a try.
