This is the only book I have bought from Audible that I just could not finish. I found the narrator, in this case the author herself, to be so smug a..Show More »nd monotone that I could not even stand to listen to it. I made it through about 1 and a half hours and had to turn it off. I couldn't tell one chaacter from the other. Maybe I will go back to it one day and try again, but after having listened to so many excellent books with excellent narrators, and a few, average books with great narrators, that made the average book worth listening to, I don't know if I can waste my time listening to an average book with a bad narrator. Sorry.
Maybe I expected too much. I was disapointed with the story line and really disliked the narrator. The main chartacter was hard for me to get to kno..Show More »w and the vicitms of the serial killer where not realistic. The good news is that is is only 7 hours long.
This is the first book by Tara Moss I bought from Audible. The story about the former model turned PI is entertaining at best, but not very ori..Show More »ginal. The characters are flat and the story is predictable. This is the first audio book I downloaded, where I didn't bother to rewind, when my thoughts wandered of, and this happened a lot because the reading by the author herself was so flat and boring and I couldn't tell one character from the other. A mediocre book can be made interesting by an excellent narrator, but this is just an average book read by a bad narrator
My gripe only applies to the audio production, & that relates to using a foreign reader for for a story set largely in Australia. After some hours of ..Show More »hearing our place names mis-pronounced, I am considering whether I'll stick it out to the end. Any future Tara Moss I read will be in print.
