Someone please tell the author that contractions make the dialogue sound more natural. Between the narrator giving the protagonist the voice of a 12 ..Show More »year old and the author being fixated on how teen boys can't control their erection, this book came across as simply juvenile. Of course the older women were worried about being seen as "cougars" but that didn't stop them from indicating repeatedly that they were attracted to the 15 YEAR OLD BOY!
it read like a child's fantasy where he is able to solve all problems including functioning as a starship Captain in battle... skip this one, trust me.
I love this series because the MC doesn't understand the trials he goes through. I think it funny that he doesn't see himself in as a leader but acts ..Show More »like it. He goes and learns what it takes to make those that follow you respect and follow you.
Trey Stone, relaxing and checking off items on his 'got done' list, has his world turned upside-down. He's arrested, PB and J are taken from his side ..Show More »and just when he thinks nothing else can go wrong, he finds out nearly every friend he had, has left or been forced out of the Navy and Marines. Cashiered, alone and dumped at a space port, Trey Stone's life has become the punch line of a 'things can't get any worse' joke.
The primary characters are maturing, secondary characters are fleshed out well, and the action keeps on rolling. The series is showing lots of legs and I can't wait for the next one
