I have never read a novel that caused me to become so emotionally invested in it. This is a real life novel depicting real life situations that people..Show More », young and old, face on a daily basis. Wonderful, wonderful literature.
This is a very good book. But parents beware it has some pretty graphic stuff on molestation and child abuse. My 11 year old said it was one of the..Show More » best books he read and scored 100% on his AR test. I listened along with him and was pretty set back by the molestation of his sister by her father and not wanting to go on with the book. The author does try to approach it in a manner that has tact for older elementary children but I would not recommend for younger children. Our school has it as 4th grade level. My opinion would be more of 7th/8th grade level. But that is only me. As I said my 11 year old said it was one of the best books he has ever read and he aced the AR it is up to you, but I suggest the parent listens to it first.
