Love, love, loved Heath and Brook. What a great story. There wasn’t any murder or mystery or anything like that. It was just a love story, which I’ve ..Show More »begun NOT to like very much. It had a little less than 300 pages but it was so interesting it felt like it was over way too soon. And I have to admit there really isn’t enough dialogue for me but I can suffer when the story is good.
Brook was one selfless and brave woman, and didn’t take any crap from anyone. Heath was such an arrogant goof I couldn’t wait for him to be brought down. LOL
I liked the other players a lot; Blythe, Brette, Blaire and Blaike, Leventhrope, Hawksworth, and poor old Duffen. I liked the dog, Freddy, too. I did not like Sheridan, what an absolute jerk he was.
There was sexual attraction in this story and a nice bedroom scene very near the end of the book. And, there was very little swearing.
As to the narration: Again Stevie Zimmerman was awesome. Every man sounded like a man and she read with such emotion: laughing, whispering, crying, yelling, you name it and she did it. Wonderful narration!
Another great romance from Collette Cameron. I just loved all the “B’s”: Blythe, Brooke, Brette, Blaire and Blaike. And I loved the other players: Tri..Show More »stan, Raven, Whitehouse, Maddox, Francine and Hawk. I despised Burlington, Rosemary Sanford and Phillips, who got exactly what he deserved, but it would have been better if he’d died.
What little was told about why Tristan could be so cold and unfeeling was pretty awful, it just showed what a truly horrible his father was. BUT as he drew closer to Blythe the more his walls came down. This really was a very good love story but also a story showing just how depraved men could be way back then and how the “ton” were never held accountable for their wicked deeds.
There was no sex but there was love and affection and passion. You don’t need sex when you have all that. At least, I don’t.
As to the narration: Again, Stevie Zimmerman was fantastic. Her male voices are wonderful and her emotions are fabulous. I love listening to her.
