Since I didn't read the first book in this series I thought that maybe I'd be lost, but I wasn't. "After The Storm" is the sweet love story o..Show More »f Tim, who is a chivalrous, patient and sweet man; and Renee who is a sassy, independent and strong woman. Their journey is not smooth at all..... Renee endures some horrible situations.....but their love is steadfast and enduring. This is a clean romance that tugs at your heartstrings and is a reminder that love conquers all.
I would say the narrator did a very good job overall. Her female voices were great...especially her voice for Renee. Renee's voice, at times, reminded me Mae West (the old movie actress). It gave her that "spicy" edge. Most of the male voices were good...but a few were whiney. Lol. But, to her credit, there were many male voices in this story and she made each voice unique.
This is definately one to try if you enjoy a good clean romance with a good plot. I will be checking out more books by this author.
This book was a delight to listen to so I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.
This audio download is actually two books: Spirit Journey and Gossamer Threads. If you've read the previous books you will enjoy these additions to t..Show More »he series.
The first book focuses on the romance of Skip & Peanut and we get more information about The tribe, Runner, and the Spirit Journey. The second book focuses on the relationship of Joey & Snow Song and gives glimpses into the lives of Rory & Kyle, Eric & Jaylin and members of the tribe.
I know each book in this series is supposed to be considered a "stand alone" book but I would recommend reading these books in order. These stories connect beautifully and each book builds the character and story development.
The narration is very good for most voices. Each voice is unique but my only negative is that some of the male voices tend to be on the whiney side.
(Note: These books may not appeal to everyone because the story does delve into Tribal customs and practices. This story shows that homosexuality within their tribe is honored and not frowned upon. As a Christian, I have different views than the Tribe but I did appreciate that the author was true to the tribe's beliefs. We all have different opinions regarding this subject but we need to be less judgemental and more compassionate. None of us are perfect, we all sin and struggle in life. We need to let God handle the judging! And......I'm sure to get many negative votes for saying this.)
I enjoyed these books and I am grateful that the author, narrator, or publisher provided me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.
