The Glass Mermaid is a departure for me . . . not the genre that I would usually be drawn to . . . but something about it caught my attention . . . I ..Show More »am a lover of the old, old fairy tales, Grimm Brothers and the like . . . I can't say what exactly makes this story work, but it does . . . its not smutty, its not overdone, and its just long enough . . . my only criticism is Cooper's voice . . . which is not good . . . otherwise the performance would have been stellar . . . I suppose we all dream of a bit of the ethereal . . . you will find it here in The Glass Mermaid . . . and it definitely meets my criteria of an ending that is worth the wait . . .
This is a light, easy romance set in a town where several fairy-tale creatures live incognito among the regular humans. This series has humor and goo..Show More »d dialogue with minimal drama and great narration. There are mentions of past happenings that you can read about in the prior books in the series, but each book can be a standalone. This whole series is a great option when you want a short-term escape with just a bit of magic or when you just need something light and fun to hit the reset button after a tragic, heart-breaking or otherwise heavy listen. I liked the characters and the supporting "cast" and look forward to more.
