Evie was 10 and Leo was 11 when they first became friends in Foster Care then, by the time they were 14 and 15 they had fallen in love with each other..Show More » and even dreamed of a future together. But the unthinkable happened when Leo was adopted and the two devastated friends shared their first kiss and promised to keep in touch..... a promise that Leo never kept. Years later all grown up Evie was being stalked by Jake a handsome, sexy, deep brown eyed stranger....... but he had some bad news for her.
This story, that went back and forth in time to tell their love story, gripped me from the start even though I had my doubts and suspicions about the stranger who soon became Evie's whole world as their sizzling chemistry quickly boiled over. But the tragic story of what happened to Leo was a chilling and heartbreaking revelation. There's drama, angst, humor, heartbreak, secrets, revelations, romance and lust filled sex.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, very good dual narration, a well written captivating story with likeable primary and secondary characters and a romantic sweet Epilogue makes this a very creditworthy listen. And Mia Sheridan is an author whose imaginative and romantic words have made her books an auto download for me.
Grace and Carson are both in Las Vegas for the same reason Confrences..... but Carson's is for the Adult Entertainment world and Grace's is a Conferen..Show More »ce on Law because he's a Straight Male Porn star and she's a Law student. However, in the middle of the Bellagio Hotel these two unlikely soul-mates accidentally meet, sparks fly, banter follows but they both move on..... until the elevator ride that changed their lives, there perspectives and their very futures.
This was a captivating, fantastic, bitter-sweet love story that spanned five long years.... years of yearning for each other and, even though they hadn't stayed in contact with each other, their thoughts were never far away from that magical hot weekend that touched their hearts when the Porn star showed that he was just a naive vulnerable man and the Student who dreamt of what could be. But fate had a different plan for them so when reality came knocking on their door it led to a tear-filled heartbreaking goodbye.... a goodbye to all their new dreams and hopes of tomorrows.
To cut a long, frustrating, heartbreaking, enjoyable and totally entertaining story short (and not to give out too many spoilers) - a breathtaking young man turns into a handsome, fit, tattooed and decorated Navy Seal and a beautiful girl turns into a stunning engaged Defense Lawyer and one day their paths accidentally cross again. But this time it's because of murder, human trafficking and a secret life.
Worth a credit? Oh this was so good, so romantic and so bloody frustrating too but thankfully there was the HEA that we romance lovers all look forward to. Dual POV's and narration was great which even had a song in it which was done well. I'm so glad this is in my library and yet again Mia Sheridan has delivered a book that was very creditworthy.
I got this one during a recent sale and after listening I have to admit that the great reviews were absolutely correct. This book hits you emotionall..Show More »y especially if you've ever been teased, bullied, or just felt inadequate in some way. This is a story that builds layers of emotions.......it tugs at your heartstrings.....makes you smile.....and leaves you fulfilled. I enjoyed the journey of love with Archer & Bree and didn't want it to end.
Note: FYI- There are descriptive sex scenes and some swearing. For those who only like "clean reads" you might want to give this one a try. Just forward thru those scenes and the story would be just as good.
I highly recommend this book and I am putting on my repeat list.
All I will say is you've got to hand it to the author. This book was wonderfully written, the story compelling and riveting. You'll be biting your n..Show More »ails and on the edge of your seat through much of it. But that ending? Geesh! If you don't immediately get the next book, you're nuts. lol Now, on to the next installment.
Unlike book 1, book 2 hit the ground running. I didn't have to wait for things to develop because it picked right up from where Becoming Calder ended...Show More »
The floods came and it looked like Eden was the only survivor from the compound. She found Shelter with a family whose patriarch was looking to make amends. It's there that Eden began to build her inner strength. She didn't have Calder to depend on, so she had to start living for herself and she did. Eden began to work and make money, she began to learn how the outside world operates and she began to find her own voice.
Three years after she finally started rebuilding her life, she learned that she wasn't the sole survivor but that her love, Calder, made it out alive. Their reunion was bitter sweet because they had both built a life independent of each other. The question now was "Do they fit in each other's life now?"
I really appreciate that this author made sure this book flowed exactly like book 1. I was never in doubt of the Eden and Calder's intentions towards each other. I knew what they had would endure. What I especially loved was the methodical addressing of all the questions and background issues that were presented in book 1. I kept saying "oooh, that's why!" as the past was unfurled in this book. I like that this book addressed past present and future together without confusing the reader. I like that each character found out about their past and made their decisions about who they wanted to be in the future.
Finding Eden was emotional, it was sweet and it was very satisfying. I love Love and I got that in spades here. Mia Sheridan is one of my favorite authors in the genre, rivaling only Colleen Hoover. I have never read a book by here and felt let down. Her books always make me feel hopeful and joyous because Love always wins. This book was full of irony as well. It's was a big train of cause and effect. At the end of this story, I smiled and nodded my head. It was good book and series! The only thing I didn't get was Xander's love story but the fact that I know he got love will have to be enough for me.
I highly recommend Mia Sheridan as one of the best New Adult writers because you will always leave a happy reader.
This Author is among my all time favorites. She writes her characters with such power and strength but makes you believe in devoted love again. This s..Show More »tory is amazing. Any age will love it. I am a 51 year old woman and was listening to this book while working in my yard and it is so emotionally stirring that I had tears running down my face. She's pure genius. Just get it now. You won't be sorry.
This is the first story I've listened by Mia Sheridan, and I enjoyed her writing style, plot, and characters. There was enough angst, and banter betwe..Show More »en both the H/h, they both captivated, held my attention, and had me rooting for both of them. I especially liked Kira's character. She was smart, witty, and had a carefree personality. When she was down and out, instead of throwing in the towel, she devised a plan, and was the one to save the day.
Grayson's heartbreaking past definitely reflected in his personality, and Kira's nickname for him "The Dragon" was a great description, but she slowly breaks down his walls.
Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are two of my favorite narrators! I really enjoy their performances, and think they did an AWESOME job with the characters voices, and emotions. These two are the reason I actually bought this audio when it was offered as an Audible Daily Deal. I knew I couldn't go wrong and was not disappointed.
Grayson's Vow was a heartwarming romance that was more of a slow build versus instantly falling in love, and the sex scenes were mild. Overall, a sweet story with a HEA that will leaving you feeling satisfied. Definitely a credit worthy audio.
A TURBULENT TOUCHING TALE OF LOVE & SECOND CHANCES
Brogan Ramsay was a handsome Irish lad who worked with his Father in the gardens of a rich man's estate and that's where so many firsts happened.. his..Show More » first love, his first kiss, his first sexual experience.. and the first time his heart was broken. As a naive besotted teenager Lydia hatched a foolish plan to entice the boy she loved.. but the plan backfired on her and it brought devastation in its wake. It destroyed Brogan, destroyed a sweet friendship, destroyed a family and made an enemy who would wait in the shadows while he plotted his revenge.
Seven years later Lydia and her no good brother are struggling to keep their family's house and late Father's business afloat - but her addict of a brother recklessly lost it all in a game of cards.. a game that the now grown up wealthy Brogan knew he was going to win. However, it wasn't enough for Brogan to just take over the de Havilland family business - no, he was going to make Lydia suffer too.. but Brogan began to realized that his need for revenge was hurting an innocent Lydia - but it was hurting him more. His hatred had masked his true feelings - feelings that were rekindled while he watched and got closer to Lydia.. but an emotional rollercoaster was about to be unleashed and Lydia and Brogan would feel more betrayal, anguish, heartache and pain at the hands of others.
This was a riveting dual POV second-chance love story about mistakes, broken dreams, betrayal, regrets, revenge, misunderstandings and the healing power of forgiveness and love. Lydia was a likeable Heroine who had made a naive mistake years previously and was now paying very dearly for that mistake at the hands of a handsome Gaelic speaking Irishman whose loveable, sexy and tender character made him a swoon-worthy Hero. Mia Sheridan has spun a heart-wrenching captivating love story that tells of drama, angst, cruelty, secrets, lies, bitter regrets, heat, forgiveness, sex, treachery, heart and a lot lot more.. and then she finished the story off with a touching Epilogue that'll warm your heart. However, IMO, this lost a star because of the mismatched narration - Charlotte Wright (not a listed) sounded a wee bit too young and Aaron Abano sounded a touch too old.. but they did give it their best.
Worth a credit? It wasn't my favorite from a series that's been perfectly penned by one of my favorite Authors.. however, IMO, it's still very creditworthy.
