Innocent man faces death penalty in 6 wks unless..

The story is set in New York and Indiana, and the crime being investigated happened many years ago before DNA evidence was widely used. (In other words, this case would be simple to unravel today). Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's just mysterious and suspenseful enough to entertain, but not so much that I was stressed out trying to keep thing straight. The listener will be part of the criminal investigation process as Dani tries to figure out who the dead girl is and who killed her, as well as Dani's efforts as an attorney to plead George's case.
PERFORMANCE - Good job.
OVERALL - This is a good book for everyone, as there is no sex or bad language. It is Book 1 of a series, but it stands alone. I will be continuing with the series.
Presumption of Guilt is Book 2 in the 4 novel Innocent Prisoners Project series by Marti Green. The story in fascinating and the suspense is intense...Show More » A 17 year old girl is wrongfully convicted of murdering her parents and has spent 12 years in prison. This novel clearly shows how our criminal justice system can be manipulated by forced false confections, overzealous DA's, and crooked judges.
Tanya Eby does her usual stellar job of narration. I found that narration was best at 1.5x recorded speed.
This was simply a good book. Very little violence, no shoot outs, no foul language and no sex. I'd let my 11 yr old grand daughter read this book. ..Show More »/> Once again, we are taken into a drama that most of would never think about. Simply, just a new kid in school wanting to appear cool to the other kids, to gain acceptance. Starts off very innocently and quickly rolls into a page turner as Frances (the juvenile in the story) gets thrown into trouble at a facility for young offenders. And his troubles are only starting. He sees things that could cause many of the personnel to loose their jobs or face jail times themselves.
Looking for Frances, his frantic mother contacts the office of the Innocence Project and before long, Dani finds herself knee deep while facing an issue she never imagined possible.
Love the book. Love the narrator. If you are looking for a courtroom thriller, this is more of a courtroom drama. Best book I have listened to in a while. Can't wait for next book.
