When I go to the book store, I always check for a new Catherine Anderson book before I look at anything else. I've got all my friends and family hooke..Show More »d as well. She's never disappointed us. She does get homework before starting a book and you can tell.
PLOT: Taffeta Brown moves to Mystic Creek and captures the attention of local lawman Barney Sterling~
Local Lawman Barney is "intrigued&..Show More »#34; by Taffeta Brown the owner of the local herb store. Taffeta has secrets of her own~ is on probation for child abuse. She propositions Barney for a sham marriage to get her daughter back~ Barney digs a little deeper and finds Taffeta clearly was railroaded in court. a trip to Las Vegas has the marriage take off and soon becomes real in every way. Taffeta's daughter Sarah age 5 is the child from hell and wants to be a stripper like her baby sitter. The road to become friends with Sarah is a long one. This is a good story but contrived is the ONLY word that comes to mind. The book drags on far too long. I give it 3 Stars~ The reader is good but the story is lacking. the most interesting person in this book is the out of control 5 year old.
