Every story has a beginning often driven by fate. The McKinnon Legends are no exception. It is the year of our Lord 1493, and King Henry VII has been seated on the English throne for eight years. He did not get there by chance alone. Nor has he stayed there with ease. He has his favorites, generously rewarding those who serve him well. Sir Nic McKinnon is at the top of that list. For his faithful devotion, Nic finds himself graciously rewarded. That reward is the hand in marriage to the seventh duchess of Seabridge.

Book two (parts 1 & 2) of this eight-part series focuses on the characters who are rough around the edges: Connor Holden and the fiery Irish physician, Reagan O'Riley. Both characters introduced in book one, The Beginning, have come back together in a dynamic love story full of misunderstanding, deception, and ultimately forgiveness. The growth they experience through the journey comes at a great cost, as is usually the case when lessons are learned the hard way.

Had to see how it ended....

Overall I liked the story. It was filled with interesting characters and plots. However, the author builds most of the story around the same kind of..Show More »

He has his favorites, generously rewarding those who serve him well. Sir Nic McKinnon is at the top of that list. For his faithful devotion, Nic finds himself graciously rewarded. That reward is the hand of Morgan Pembridge, seventh duchess of Seabridge, in marriage. The only issue is Nic isn't interested in the bounty, and taking a wife is certainly not in his plans.

Shallow & Predictable Historical (sort-of) Romance

Very rarely do I not finish a book once I've started, but I just can't continue listening to this one. The characters are flat, cookie-cutter stereoty..Show More »
