The reader was terrible. He seemed like he could do documentaries well--and he obviously speaks French--but this book was painful to listen to from start to finish. The basic story itself is fun...but only if you are one of those people who can overlook how it is told.
This would be known as an easy fast read… Easy-going with no investment in the storyline or characters. If you just want to sit back and listen to a b..Show More »eautiful description of France, this is the book for you.
Sorry, Mr. Mayle, as much as I love French inspired novels, this was not good. Very simplistic yet hard to follow. The story line and story telling ve..Show More »ry elementary. I believe you haven't beaten A Good Year yet!
Narrator's french pronunciation so wrong it's distracting. Where was the director on this? Erik Davies disappointing performance ruins an otherwise c..Show More »harming story - although the Caper series hasn't beat the excitement of the "Marseille Caper" earlier in the series. This story feels a great deal more discombobulated, as if Mayle were searching for a common thread and then it all comes together in the last chapter.
