The heat in this book is pretty intense both in the fires and with the characters. I really liked the way everything came together in this book. I w..Show More »as fascinated by the in depth point of view she gave of arsonists. The writer must have done a great deal of research about the pathology of arsonists because I learned a great deal from her book on the subject. Of course, I liked the main male character. I’d liked him from the first book, and he getting to know him better in this book was great. There were a few things I didn’t see coming, but I did figure out who the arsonists was this time. It wasn’t patently obvious, but the author gave the reader a lot of clues. What I really liked about it was that it wasn’t predictable. Like I said, there were a few things I didn’t see coming, and it wasn’t as easy to figure it all out as one would think, but I did figure it out.
The reader is the same reader of all the books in the trilogy, and I love her voice, her intonations, and the way she reads. She is a good reader, and if I can find something else I’d like to read that she animates with her voice, I’ll read it.
Overall, this was a good book. Like I said in my review for Deadly Fear, I think that the relationships move a little fast, but I dealt with it a little better with this book because I was expecting it.
