This was a really good series. At first I was disappointed when I realized the third book had nothing to do with Zach and Ryan, but really got into t..Show More »he drama of Joey's (Little Ducks) horrible situation and was extremely relieved with the ending.
I'm so glad this is a duo & I could instantly start book 2! As I've come to expect, Aria Grace spins a story of young love & heartbreak that leaves yo..Show More »u wanting to soothe as well as yell at her characters. They are all too human & fallible, easily relatable. New love is full of pitfalls, bruised hearts & hot steamy nights. When a smoking hot ex is combined with the uncertainty of a first time same sex relationship, disaster strikes.
Good Read... Erotic Fiction with an Emotional Side
This book is far outside what I would normally be listening to, but I gave it a chance.... I didn't think I would like an erotic fiction, but was happ..Show More »y to have been proven wrong. Just in case it wasn't clear from the description, this is a very explicit book... But not all that unrealistic. I found the main character to be quite real and understandable. The story while right on the edge of believable (and sightly cliché), was still enjoyable and worth the time.
The main character, Steve, owns a street-side waffle stand. Everyday, he watches his secret crush walk by with his presumed boyfriend. He goes out of his way everyday to make sure he is able to be there when they walk by. One day, he tries to offer him a free sample. When his boyfriend yanks him back suddenly, and returns the next day with bruises, he is infuriated when he realizes the dangerous nature of their relationship... When he arrives at his business the next day to find that his crush is there waiting for him (lacking any other options), he does everything he can to hide him from his powerful, rich, and unstable ex-boyfriend.
As I said, there were a few times that I knew I was reading a make-believe story, but the writing and characters were strong enough that I was actually disappointed that it wasn't longer...
I definitely enjoyed this book. Hope you do too!
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

Chance and Vinnie are old school friends who experimented with sex. Vinnie discovered his sexuality earlier whilst Chance went on to marry a woman and had a child. After Chance' wife passes he meets up with his old flame again.
Once the two of them work out their issues their flame burns even higher. I think that it is wonderful that Chance' and his toddler son Carter both want Vinnie to join their family. Vinnie, a reluctant parent finds having them both in his life is with it. I'm glad Vinnie took a chance on Chance.

The narrator gave a wonderful performance. His reading style was somewhat sedate however. I speed up the book to 1.5x and I enjoyed it much better.

Sometimes when you run from a bad situation you run smack into something good. Aria Grace has done it again. Her characters are well developed and I don't necessarily mean physically either. Her books all have excellent plots and scenarios, not to mention the steamy love scenes.

I don't want to give too much of the story away. In this novel she tackles drug addiction and overdose of a friend, she tackles suicide ideation and suicide in general. She also addresses polyamory.
In Choosing Happy: More than Just Friends #3, we are introduced to Steve and Joey. In this book, Choosing Us: More Than Just Friends, we continue with Steve and Joey with the inclusion of Adam as a new member of their family. Together, they form a beautiful polyamorous relationship.
With all the talk over "polygamous marriages" that were discussed during the lead up to marriage equality, maybe one day plural marriages will become acceptable. It may not be for everyone but all marriages deserve equal protection under the law. it is not for any of us to judge the type of relationships that people enter into. All relationships between consenting adults deserve respect and spousal protections under the law.
The More than Friends series continues when we follow their friend Alex out to Denver where the Mile High Romances continue. I sincerely believe and hope that one day a producer will take notice of these novels. The characters are so well developed and they would make an amazing television serial drama.
