This is a very well written feel good story. The whole idea is that Mia and Ethan have a one-night stand but wind working together, each an intern at..Show More » Boomerang -- a dating service. There is only one permanent position though. The story is about all of the various blockages and obstacles, not so much about the conflict between the two. I like that August did a reasonable job developing the characters the main characters. She came up a little short in developing the supporting players if she intends to build on them in following works. This is nothing that cannot be overcome.
The narrators Wallace and Eiden do a solid good job. The novel is written alternating chapter perspective. This is becoming more common these days and each chapter opens with a question, more like a riddle.
If you are looking for a sultry novel, this is not it. It's packed with eccentricities and subtle humor. I reiterate, feel good. I recommend it as a read and I will read the next one in the series.
This second novel in the series dives deep into Adam Backwood's past. August does an excellent job building suspense and anticipation to understand m..Show More »any secrets. Blackwood is trying to raise $20M for investment from the Quick Family. Allison, the Quick daughter, is sent in to do due diligence. The narration is ping, pong male female which works.
This novel is tightly focused on Adam and Allison, so you do not learn much about the other players. Although both Mia and Ethan do make an appearance (form book 1) in this book. I hope that August eventually develops a novel around Cookie, she is bit of an enigma. I recommend book two. Give it a read.
This last book in the trilogy maintained the standard of excellence set by the first two. This novel focuses on Gray, Adam's younger brother. In book..Show More » two, August setup issues that got resolved in this novel. What I really appreciated in this series is each book has its own unique plot -- they are not formulaic. Gray, aspiring musician, meets Skye, aspiring cellist and actress. Most of the novel is about them finding themselves and each other. Each has their own internal struggles and breakthroughs. This is not a steamy romance novel.
This is a sweet and heartfelt story line that will appear to romance readers. Each chapter alternates male-female perspective. I like that style and works well. The female narration is very good, but the male voice doesn't work for me. That's why I gave it low marks in performance. By the end of the novel you are used to it.
I recommend this third installment and recommend the whole trilogy. Thumbs up.
