First the good. Having enjoyed the first book I was looking forward to this sequel. This story has the same good pacing and blend of action and chara..Show More »cter development. The narrator is excellent. I have two negatives. As other reviewers have noted, this book is short-too short. Not enough bang for the buck. I quit on the "A. American" books for the same reason, diminishing return on investment. My second negative was the introduction by the author of a metaphysical element in one of the sub-plots. This struck me as jarringly incongruous with the rest of the narrative. As soon as I heard it I GROANED. And its not even original. Its basically an Indiana Jones rip-off. I will not buy the next installment whenever it becomes available. The combination of these two negatives is a deal-breaker.
