This story was fun with some steam! I liked the switch POV and the girls in the story were tough and I loved that too! The bedroom scenes were HOT. ..Show More »I also liked that there was a lot of background detail especially considering it was only 5.5 hours. Usually in shorter stories you feel like things were rushed and I really didn't feel that way at all.
The narration was awesome! I truly enjoyed the deep voice especially during the Male POV but I also was very glad the narrator didn't try to sound like a female, he just lightened his voice a little. He had a great voice for the sexy scenes too ;)
Razor, the High Chancellor for the Alliance, is called in when dealing with difficult situations. He has no iss..Show More »ue with handling any situation swiftly or harshly. After all, he's an alien from another world and doesn't think like a human; however, after he is saved by human female, Kali, he claims her as his mate. Razor will have to learn to rethink how he views humans and the actions he takes or risk Kali not forgiving him or accepting him. While he will not let her go, he really wants her to accept him.
I enjoyed this story, plot, and especially the characters! When I read or listen to a story, I want the plot, and characters to reveal themselves as the author imagined them, and not what I think they should be. I don't want them to be like a "cookie cutters" all the same, and perfect. I want and love variety, especially in characters. I love this series has both strong and weak characters.
David Brenin has an amazing voice, and I love listening to it! He also does an amazing job narrating the story! ; -)
Dagger and Jordan's story was great! In some ways, it was refreshingly different, because it was not the usual tension between the H/h where one of t..Show More »hem is not willing to admit or give in to their feelings for the other. From the beginning, Dagger and Jordan knew they had feelings for each other, and would eventually be together. During the time Dagger was missing, Jordan never gave up hope, and knew in her heart he would be found. After he was rescued, they came together and worked as a team.
While Dagger and Jordan were marooned on a remote planet, another spaceship called the Crystal landed with three Frenchman, one who was a half robot named Jarmen D`ju. Not sure where these characters actually came from, but thought they were funny. It also peaked my curiosity to see if they are actually apart of other series by S.E. Smith's. So, now I will definitely have to listen to her other series, just to see if these characters appear in one of them or if this was just odd encounter with them.
As usual, the narration is fantastic. David Brenin always delivers a five star performance.
If you are familiar with this series, then you've probably come to like Taylor, she's a fighter with a bubbly personality. From the beginning, she has..Show More » naturally gravitated towards Saber, even while under Hunter's protection. Saber knows in his heart, once she is of age, he will claim Taylor as his Amate. Until then, there's a lot of banter between them, which is fun to watch.
May contain some spoilers: In book one, Saber is hurt with a debilitating injury which makes him feel less of a warrior, and unfit to claim Taylor, and he pushes her away. However, with Taylor's determination and personality, she is not willing to let him feel sorry for himself or give up. She's even chosen a career in the field that will people with these types of injuries. She applies what she learned to help and push him, even when he does not have the strength to push himself.
After years of Saber trying to push her away, she finally giving him an ultimatum, to search his heart and soul to figure out if he wants to claim her. To ensure he has time to think about them, and for her to get hands on experience she needs for her career, she leaves on a peace mission to a planet that has recently been brought in the Alliance. During this mission things go terribly wrong, and Taylor gets caught in the crossfires. Saber's made up his mind; however, once he learns she's in a life or death situation, he will have join the other warriors, and become the man Taylor needs in order to help save her.
This story is one of these best in the series so far, and has been developing since book one. I've became emotionally invested in both Saber and Taylor. Well worth my time, and I recommend this series, sale or credit!
