I have listened to this book several times and I still find myself laughing out loud and shedding a tear. A great story! One I highly recommend.
The 2nd book in the Promise Rock series, I really enjoyed this book. I inadvertently read book 3 (Living Promises: Keeping Promise Rock) first but I d..Show More »on't think the reading order was too detrimental to the stories presented by Amy Lane. Learning of Shane's story, Mikhail's journey and the eventual joining was a delightful experience. Though maybe not as gut-wrenching as the first book, the story still evoked a mass of emotional responses and was still worth the read. I do recommend this book!
When I was introduced to Jeff Beachum in the first Promise Rock book, I was a bit put off by the character. If I were honest, it would be because of m..Show More »y own bias and refusal to relate to such a character. So image my surprise when I began this book to realize that the main character was Jeff and this kid named Collin. My immediate response was that I was not going to like this book. But because I have enjoyed everything else that I have read of Amy Lane's I figured that I would give it a shot. The book, though not as good as the first book, still managed to elicit an emotional response that involved laughter, tears, and compassion for the characters. A cathartic experience and I certainly recommend all three books in the series.

I almost stopped listening because I did not want the images in my head and the conclusion to this wonderful journey that I had concocted to be tarnished...but I continued. Never to disappoint, Amy finished this series with laughter, heartache, tears, and joy and I cannot recommend this book more! An excellent story to imagine and Paul Morey did a fantastic job with the cast of characters. These characters: Deacon, Crick, John, Amy, Parrish, Bennie, Perrie Angel, Drew, Jeff, Colin, Shane, Mickey, Kimmy, Lucas, Patrick, Martin...all have touched my soul and spirit and I will carry them and the hope, dreams, and love that they exemplify with me always and FOREVER...
