Every once in a while I like to listen to something out of my "norm" and this one fit the bill. It is written and narrated very well and is e..Show More »ntertaining from beginning to end. Because of the more adult banter between the main characters, it is more of an adult listen. It's definitely worth listening to if you need a laugh.
This is the first in a series of 8 on Audible, so if you don't like cliffhangers I suggest you get all of the books in the series.
This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
Just like book one, this well written book is humorous and narrated perfectly. The off-the-wall family of the heroine is absolutely amusing and absur..Show More »d at the same time. The hilarious situations that happen in this story are worth far more than a credit.....but save that credit because this one's under 5 bucks.
If you are looking for an Adult listen that's entertainingly humorous then this is for you! And in case you don't know these books are a series with cliffhangers ......so just be warned.
I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
Oh no, the book ended but the story didn't!!! Waaaa, I want the next part now!!!! In audio, not ebook!!!! I really hate waiting!!!!
The story..Show More » picks up with that second date for Shannon and Declan. Oh course there will be a catastrophe! That is the life they lead! I am uber clumsy and klutzy myself, I can relate. Events get dramatic quickly.
I love the banter between these two, they feel so natural. It makes for a dynamic relationship. Sigh, I want a billionaire to sweep me away in a limo and a helicopter.
The narrative is all from Shannon's POV still, I do not expect that to change. She is fun and flighty, while more responsible than her family. The supporting cast is, as always, hilarious!!! Such a quirky fun bunch.
Oh yeah, things finally get smexy!!! The bedroom door is open, with just enough naughty detail to warm a girl up. It verges on erotic, but feels more mainstream sexy. Sigh, to be swept away like that!!
There are some angles of this book that bother me. Your jerk ex-boyfriend keeps texting you, do not go out with him. Who cares about that jest, you have a sexy billionaire calling on you. The other conflict, that will spill over into the next book, seems contrived. He does know the nature of her job and things that occur. We shall see how that all turns out.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tanya Eby, who is delightful! She has the perfect tone for the vibe of this book. I love the way she adds energy and sass to the characters. She keeps the story moving right along with her swift pace. Terrific addition of emotions into the voices, especially at key moments. This has been a fabulous blend of story and narration.
This is the place where I am sitting twiddling my thumbs waiting for the last book in the serial. While it has been a delightful read, the sectioned out story is annoying. Having it all in one book would be preferable. I really enjoyed the writing and flow of the storytelling, I will be looking for more of Ms Kent's books, but only if they are all in one or already released.
I do hope this is a series, perhaps giving those billionaire brothers HEA or her BFF and sister finding love. Really fun characters have such potential.
Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
This is book 4 of Shopping for a Billionaire. This book is witty, romantic and loaded with laughs (laugh out loud ones). I haven't mentioned this befo..Show More »re in the other reviews, but this series must be read in order and they do have cliffhangers (which I enjoy).
I loved this book as much as all the others. The best scene of all was "The Fort". I never knew mystery shopping could be so much fun! Again Toilet Girl and Hot Guy have some great adventures and some bad ones (it's not all roses). I love Toilet Girl's family too, specially her mom! Life for Toilet Girl - anything that can go wrong does for her (tenfold)!
The author, Julia Kent once again did an awesome job on this story. Love the plot and the punchlines. I am very happy that both books 3 and 4 were longer than the others (I prefer longer books in audio - I want my money's worth). The narrator, Tanya Eby delivers another flawless story to us complete with the comedy needed to add to the humor! I really like this narrator's voices: very smooth and easy on the ear. Great job ladies! On to book 5...
I haven't read the rest of the books in this series and I probably won't. I bought this simply because Zachary Webber was the narrator. Zachary di..Show More »d an outstanding job bringing Declan to life. I found myself laughing out loud for most of the book. The author definitely has a great sense of humor. I might have to listen to this one again.
