Audiobook listened to and reviewed by Kim for Read Your Writes Book Reviews
I've read Winters Heat previously and completely loved the bo..Show More »ok. When Cristin Harber put out a call for an audiobook review I was totally game. Then I thought, "Crap. I don't like audiobooks. They bore me and the narration is cheesy." Thus, I'm the perfect person to review an audiobook, right? Yes, no. I honestly have no idea.
I loved this book from the start with its larger than life Alpha hero who has a heart of gold and risks his life to protect the woman he's waited his whole life for. The heroine isn't too bad herself. Mia seems like a damsel in distress although she's anything but. She's strong with wounds of her own she’s trying to overcome. She's a survivor. The secondary characters in the book, from Colby's mother to his team members are great. The book gives you hot love scenes, intense fighting, and some comic relief.
I really enjoyed the two books together. I do not like books where the female character has emotional issues that are just dragged on and on! But..Show More », this female character has it going on. She bounces back from tragedy with full force! The fact the lead man in the story is equally strong and handsome is just a bonus. If you like action, romance and are looking for a happy ending, this is a good read.
It was nice to see the boss get a HEA. This has everything a girl could want, sexy men, guns, sex, and a tough female. Just because you fall in love d..Show More »oesn't mean you have to be a wuss. I am on to the next book on this series.
I liked that the plot of this book is around a couple rebuilding their marriage and finding out new things about each other. It was a good listen. T..Show More »his author is very free with profanity and sex scenes so be warned.
Great novella that Cristin writes again. Jeffrey Kafer is amazing narrator bringing the characters to life! Jenny and Asher are lifelong friends who r..Show More »ealize they are meant to be together, but Asher isn't aware that her brother in law is the fierce Jared from Titan. Whole new ball game when that is found out and Jenny needs protection!
Buyer beware there is a rape scene, I personally skipped. Other then that it was a good book. At some points the leading lady seemed a little to girly..Show More » instead of the assassin/interrogator she was supposed to be.
My second favorite listen in this series. I found it easier to read them in order, although some people are fine just jumping into the series. The n..Show More »arrator presents the correct Alpha male tone for all of the books and is okay for the female voices. No big breaths, or annoying intonational patterns. Great listen while traveling on Amtrak.
I liked the plot of this book. Although I was screaming at the main female character to "get her life" for the first five chapters. After listening ..Show More »to all of the books in this series, this was one of my favorites. The dialogue for the hero really appealed to me. It seem more realistic. I don't personally know military men, but so many books make present them as using the the F-word in every sentence. I think this hero was anti-type even for this series.
