First off Rosalyn Landor is AMAZING. She acts out the book...not just reads it....If the character is breathless...she reads it that way! SUPERB! ..Show More »/> Rebecca and Devon are a great match. I didn't want this book to end but when it did...I immediately downloaded the second book in the series and started it the same night.
This book is definitely not for the listener who wants PG love scenes. These aren't over the top...but they are super steamy!
I highly recommend this book and am already enjoying the second book.
I was so excited to hear Blake Sinclair's story. As with all the other Sinclair siblings, he too has something in his past that creates issues he dea..Show More »ls with...but poor Blake has an extra little something to deal with! But there is the beautiful, feisty Chelsea to get him through it all.
This book started wonderfully. I loved Blake from the previous books and was so glad it was his turn to fall in love. I was immediately enthralled and didn't want to hit pause....then it took an odd turn. The plot was kind of strange and I felt really uneasy about how Chelsea was using "Jack" and the fact that her family was encouraging her. I really hated the lies and wanted them to end so bad because I loved Chelsea and Jack as a couple. But the book would be boring without any bumps in the road.....and ride is so worth it!
The Earl is so hilarious. ..he gets funnier with each book. He just struck me as extra funny in this book. MacLean just is a great writer of dialogue and shines at character development.
Rosalyn Landor is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G as always! Listen to the whole series....you will be glad you did!
"Married By Midnight" is an effortless read, lacking in emotional stimulation.
Lord Garrett, the illegitimate youngest son a Duke, returns ..Show More »home after 7 years to fulfill the requirements of the Dukes latest will; that all his sons must marry before Christmas or lose their inheritance. The old Duke, developing mental disease, believes a curse will destroy the castle unless all his sons are married before midnight on Christmas eve.
Lord Garrett has no wish to marry, so his two older brothers find him a wife that will be a wife in name only. After their marriage, they will each go their separate ways. Afraid of being married off to some old lecher, ruined Lady Anne, disowned by her family, with no money and no prospects welcomes the opportunity to live independently on the money she will receive for marrying Lord Garrett, although they have never met.
"Married By Midnight" does not live up to what I expect from Julianne MacLean.
The Sinclair family is quite a scandalous bunch...and none more so than little sister Charlotte.
I wish the book was longer because with an h..Show More »our and a half to go....all kinds of sparks started to fly. I mean so much could have been done with these last elements, but maybe the author was just ready to wrap the series up.
This book has very little plot other than being a book about a casual love affair....but the Pembroke series drags you in and you enjoy all the siblings stories. Charlotte and Drake do have a steamy love affair.
It was nice to hear about Adelaide and William as well....heartwarming addition to the story. The end of this book gets really interesting ....oh what a tangled web!
This book wraps up everything in a nice bow. ..but I wish there were more siblings to write about.
MacLean is great at character development and dialogue. I really love her style!
Landor is an awesome narrator!!
Listen to the whole series - you wont be disappointed!
