Juliet is a Social Worker to runaway teenagers by day and kick ass vigilante by night. "Jules", better known as "Law", takes to the streets after one..Show More » of her runaway teenagers dies of a drug overdose. Law is determined to keep her kids safe and complicate the lives of the drug dealers.
Vance, is part of the Nightengale Investigations team. With a dark past, he turned his life around and is now using his skills for the greater good. Law catches his eye and will stop at nothing to protect her.
Kristen branches out and we get to know some new fun and interesting characters. We meet Jules, her "kids", her Uncle Nick and some crazy guys helping her dish out vigilant justice. Jules' character has been through a lot of heartbreak in her life. Needless to say, she makes Vance work for the relationship....but all of the Rock Chicks do don't they!
I was excited to find out more about Vance in this book and even meet his family.
I enjoyed this book and can't say enough how much I enjoy Kristen's writing. Her characters are a riot and she keeps this series fun and refreshing.
Susannah continues to narrate this series magnificently. I never tire of her reading as she brings the pages to life.
I enjoyed Ava's character. She was a previously overweight teenager with a low self esteem. Ava has been in love with Luke Stark since she was a youn..Show More »g girl. She has the most evil sisters and a Mom that pushed her Dad away when she was just 14 years old. The only one to stand up for her in her life was Luke.
After attending Luke's dad's funeral and overhearing her sister's put her down yet again, she sets a new plan in motion to loose weight. Succeeding in her weight loss, the new Ava still has the old low self esteem of the old Ava and a new hatred for men.
After swearing off men, the new Ava enlisted the help of Luke and Nightengale Investigations for her friend Sissy. Sissy's husband is a total jerk and ends up dragging Ava and Sissy in the middle of it all.
I enjoyed Ava's little war with herself using "Good Ava" and "Bad Ava". I laughed and at times yelled at her to "Wake Up"! As usual, I love the characters that Kristen has created. I continue to enjoy this series and it was fun getting to know these two. There love story was fun and of course at times trying. I had fun getting to know Ava and watch her character grow.
Again, Susannah Jones does a stellar job with the narration.
I have to say.. this is now my favorite book in the series... Stella is all famous and sh*t! YES!!! That is what you call a tru ROCK CHICK! But hands ..Show More »down... Mace stole this book! OMG... Mace's back story was so damn good... I just simply can't think of how Ashely is going to out do herself... Then the Daddy issues.. OMG!!! And the ending.. NO WAY!!!!
I loved this book! I hope Ashely does another set of Rock Chick books, with Mace's crew... that would be sweet!
Totally credit or sale if you are following the Rock Chicks! If your not.. How dare you!
I was rocking along with this series until this book. Kidnappings, shootouts, car explosions you name it, but none as bad as what Sadie face in this bo..Show More »ok. I cry for dear Sadie. Not everyone can bounce back from being through such emotional trauma as being raped to actually be in a normal relationship with someone (Even though I would not call any of these relationship normal!!). Then again only a true Rock Chick could pull that off. These girls are in a relationships with men with bad ass jobs so they got to be hard as nail to deal yeah. Credit worthy listen folks. I am in love with this series. Kristen Ashley and Susannah Jones together makes this series a blast.
P.S. would totally watch the TV Series Rock Chicks :P
I love this entire series, but I know some people didn't care for the "weaker" heroines in the series. Even if I just described you, I think you will..Show More » love Ally and Ren. This last installment has a LOT going on, even more so than the previous books, and I would say that they all have mostly non-stop, fast-paced, action/drama with a perfect amount of humor. This has one of my favorite Rock Chicks matched up with what may well be my absolute favorite hot guy of all time. There's obviously relationship drama between Ren and Ally, and while Ally is slightly clueless about her hot guy (as per usual Rock Chick form), her insecurity is well-founded, and thankfully, that is resolved pretty early on in the book. I like that she recognizes when she is wrong and is repentant about the trouble that caused. (What I'm saying is that she isn't a woman who just thinks she ain't all that and is a "pain in the ass" until Duke can finally "sort her out" a few chapters after you wanted to slap her and tell the guy to move on because he can do better.) Ren is definitely an alpha male, but unlike some of the Hot Bunch, he uses his "a-hole speak" sparingly and for good reasons, then cools down, reflects, apologizes if necessary and supports his woman no matter what. He loves Ally with no conditions, even when he really wants to insist on some. Oh yeah, Ren, BEST. GUY. EVER.
DRAMA: Ally wants to go into the "family business," but there's a lot of resistance. Rosie's back and brings trouble. Indy and the RC's are not happy with Little Miss Spill keeping secrets. The Rock Chick books are starting to be published, and hot-guy, macho-man badasses are NOT amused. Mr. Kumar needs help in the 'hood. Ren has family business problems of his own. There are weddings to be planned, and Todd is on-edge. Smithie's got troubles. Someone has a very creepy interest in Ally. And then, there's Darius.
If you liked the series, you will not be disappointed in the final book. The epilogue is awesome and promises that we will see at least some of these characters again, hopefully in the near future. Narrator is great for this series. 17 hours flew by. I laughed and smiled as usual, and I did actually tear up at the end because it's sad that it's over. For me, the Revolution is that I want to go back and start the ride all over again. SO SO SO worth the credit!
