Well, can you really call Harcos men aliens? IDK! They are just really big humanoid males... but let me tell you! This book GRABBED me at like the fir..Show More »st chapter!
Hallie, getting ready to run for her freedom in the Grab, gets collared by a big Harcos warrior or "Sky Warrior", and is then taken aboard the spaceship which orbits Hallie's planet.
The Grab is a run where Harcos men get to keep the women they grab. They have to earn points to enter the grab, by doing missions. The point of the grab is for these Harcos men to be rewarded for their services to the Harcos army, and the earth women they grab become their wife, property or reward (whatever you want to call it.) Harcos men are used to a BDSM type lifestyle so the women they grab are collared. Any woman who takes off the collar or is seen 30 days after they are grabbed can be grabbed by someone else.
It sounds crazy but boy this book was a treat! It was so good, and totally made sense. The action, drama and hot SMEXYNESS made this book an awesome listen!
Narration was great. Shift in character's voices was seamless! Great.
This is worth a credit or sale.. maybe a buy if you just don't have a credit... under 15 bucks...but worth it...
Although I enjoyed the story... this bond was one that I really didn't connect with at least not on the same level as Book 1. Of course it has scorchi..Show More »ng moments but the I rather liked the idea that once the men claimed their reward they didn't share...Menace was the exception. I would still call this a great read though!
If you haven't heard of this wonderful new Sci-Fi series before about the dominant sexy Alpha Sky Warriors, their overwhelming driving need and the le..Show More »ngths they each take to claim a mate and have a family of their own, then I suggest you quickly start. However, start with book 1 then follow it with book 2 as you'll be missing the all important and interesting who, what and why layers to the Harcos Sky Warrior's mentality and lives which helps you to understand these gentle giants of the skies. Also there's the ever building sub plot about the Rebel's uprising which has been simmering in the background but, in this 3rd book, they now become a real threat to all on board the Spaceship Valiant.
Back to this book.... Dizzy's life is threatened and her Father has put her in the Lottery and she wants out of her current life so she has every intention of being grabbed but she sees one of the huge Sky Warrior staring eagerly at her and he makes her wonder if she's doing the right thing. From the start Venom, a tattooed, pierced, badass Captain only had eyes for one woman but his 'Grab' didn't quite go as planned and for a little while he thought he was going to lose everything but in a touching scene Dizzy comes to his rescue and together they sealed her future. However, unknowingly Venom has grabbed much more than he bargained for when he tied his collar around Dizzy's neck.
The well-written, enjoyable and entertaining plot has many surprises in store for the couple but first they must learn to trust each other which, thankfully, comes naturally to them both as they are eager to make their 'marriage' work. This partly involves teaching Dizzy all about sex, ropes and bondage and Venom's tender and touching approach pays off when she happily complies with all his demands. But duty calls for Venom and secrets, surprises and shocks await Dizzy and she is forced, once again, to come to Venom's rescue. There are the familiar likeable/loveable/nasty characters from the previous books but various new characters have now joined the story which has enriched the plot.
Worth a credit? So far there are two aspects to each book in this series - the romance between the Sky Warriors and their grabbed wives which are always very sexually charged and erotic but sweet, romantic, touching and tender too. Then there's the building threat of the Terrorist Rebels which is quickly picking up speed and they're bringing death, destruction, hostage situations, fighting and fresh drama to the tense and, as yet, unknown outcome. So you certainly get lots of 'bangs' for your bucks (in every form) which makes this, IMHO, a very creditworthy listen.
