I loved everything about this book--narration, storyline, characters (lead & supporting), EVERYTHING. It's intense, sexually charged, emotional, hear..Show More »tbreaking, and worth every penny and second you spend listening to it. I love an alpha male/strong heroine type of story, but this one paints the alpha and love interest as challenged and scarred by life circumstances that have broken them down inside; but they find themselves and literally save each other through love and acceptance. In terms of intensity, there was a lot of 'build up' to when they finally get together. When it finally happens--YOWZA!!--it's EXPLOSIVE, but so delicious! I've already purchased the other two books and can't wait to see what happens next with these colorful characters. Definitely credit worthy, but it is reasonably priced so you could purchase it out right. Happy listening, you won't be disappointed.
Mine begins just where Real left off. Remy has his Brooke back and they are off for the next season in The Underground. But they still have the challe..Show More »nges of his mood changes and Scorpion isn’t history yet. They both are finally happy together and things are finally solid between them. But then a life-changing event occurs and force them to be apart for some time. And with the distance comes insecurity. Brooke starts to feel insecure about all the groupies, about the fighting and everything that comes with it. The boxer who has fallen utterly and totally in love with Brooke Dumas. Possessive as ever, Rem is fighting and training for the biggest fight of his life. With Brooke by his side he’s just invincible. But life gets in the way and as a unit they need to fight much darker parts of him that threaten to take him under. This book was good. There was a few times when Brooke irritated the hell out of me, but Remy, oh-sweet-and-sexy-Remy, he made it all worth it. It was a bit predictable, but the steam was all there and it was also sweet & romantic with no end. If you liked the first one, YOU HAVE to buy this one.
Soooo worth the wait! Can I have a Remy? Suggest listening to the first two books. Sebastian York nails it. He is also blessed with the worlds sexiest..Show More » voice. Katy Evans please write more for us. Should you get this listen, yes, yes, yes!
Good story but .....Shayna Thibodeaux's narration?
I just don't understand. Why audible insists on using Shayna Thibodeaux as a narrator for all these great upcoming books when I have heard and read ju..Show More »st how unsuitable her voice is for romance.
YAYE.. A GREAT FINALE - BUT SOB.. COZ IT'S ALL OVER
Katy Evans has finally finished her Real series and I'm so sad about that.... but happy too because it's been the perfect series from book 1 til this,..Show More » the end to it all - but boy have they all been worth the time, the credits, the sleepless nights and the emotional roller coasters that each one has put me on.
Reese has come to live with her Cousin Brooke and Remy to look after their little boy while Remy 'Riptide' is training and fighting - but she has also come to get fit, lose extra pounds and find herself. But what she finds along the way is Maverick - a solitary handsome figure obviously alone and in desperate need of her help so Reese takes very slow steps to aid him. They are both characters of few words but their heated glances say everything and their first words to each other, when they do eventually speak, are tentative, touching, shy, wary and heartfelt and, once in each others arms, they click, find their soul-mate and peace. However, first there's a slow, and oh so sweet, build-up that finally blossoms into a beautiful touching romance where all they want or need is each other.... and of course the chance to compete in, and then win, the MMA Title. But Maverick has a bitter legacy to overcome too which brings with it resentment, animosity and angst as he tries to prove, over and over again, that he is not his Father's son.
Oh, this listen was so addictive because both Reese and Maverick were such nice characters and Maverick proved to everyone that he deserved to fight - he was true to himself and true to Reese who, along with me, fell hard for this vulnerable, loving, kind and deep thinking man. And Maverick was also a good friend to his washed-up drunk Trainer who had hit the 'self destruct' button. Reese and Maverick were both crazy for one another and desperately wanted to be together and that came across so well that I couldn't help but be drawn into their plight and mesmerized by its wonderful outcome. Dual POV's and the narrators did a great job in bringing each character, and the scenes, to life which increased my enjoyment.
Worth a credit? I have spent six credits on this awesome series, regret none of them and only wish there were more to follow but alas Katy Evans has cut me off so I have to go cold turkey from her particular brand of hot, sweaty, possessive Alphas..... boo hoo!!!
