I really enjoyed this book way more than I was expecting. I like romance, dystopian YA, zombies and sci-fi but something about the description just d..Show More »idn’t appeal to me. After reading some of the reviews I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. The author did a good job of finding the right balance between world building and actually telling a story. Sometimes writers get caught up in the build-up and a plot becomes boring or stale. She blended the right amount of action, romance and back story. She also threw in enough mystery to make me want to go back for more (there are at least 4 books on Audible). I liked the narrator as well but it took a while to get accustomed to his style of delivery. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes a mix of sci-fi and romance.
Simon and Sage must go to Sage's homeplace to find information left behind by Remington Truth. The catch, Falling C..Show More »reek is a settlement bent on repopulating the devastated world by strict breeding policies. Sage must be married to return and avoid being thrust upon some man with who-knows-how-many other wives. During their stay, Simon reveals that he gained a power in the Sedona caves as well. Sage also discovers his past when a Stranger recognizes him from the past.
Narration: Sebastian Fields does wonders with accents and dialects. He employs a reading narration utilizing accents instead of an acting narration with different voices.
If you're looking for a story with action, fun awkwardness, a bit of angst and love, this is the book for you!
I've been listening to the series and I'm really enjoying it. I like that in this story Zoie was the Heroine. She didn't need saving at all, and I li..Show More »ke that about this story. She handled her own.
The Narrarator did an excellent job. You can tell who's talking and he changes accents easily. He definitely puts life into these characters and makes this story very enjoyable. I was easily drawn in.
I loved this book. In book four, we learn how the smaller communities outside of Envy live, and it focuses o..Show More »ur attentions on Theo. There is very little mention of the other main characters in the series until the last few chapters.
At the end of book 3 Theo was shot and then his body disappeared when his friend went to get help. He turns up at the house of the infamous death lady, but instead of helping him to the other side, she miraculously cures him. He finds her intriguing and after discovering a room full of computers upstairs he decides to stick around for a while.
This book is comical at times and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. With references to things from before the change (farmville, disney, geocaching, and the princess bride!), which is actually now, I find it interesting to think what it will be like 50 years from now when I look back on my life.
The few mentions of Waywren, the character from Colleen's Gardella Vampire Chronicles, was awesome! I wasn't expecting that, but I love that most of her work connects in some way or another. Waywren is truly magical it seems, as she appears in Regency London and again in 2060'ish.
I'm really enjoying this series and can't wait to start the next book.
