Looking for a steamy, no angst, pure swoon-fest?? Come Away with Me by Kristen Proby was a very sweet love story. The first in the With Me in Seattle ..Show More »series. The flow, the writing style, the feel of the story, the characters, everything just instantly hooked me.The perfect blend of sweet, angst-free romance and super hot sex. The story starts off when Natalie first encounters Luke while she is taking pictures one morning on the beach. Luke approaches her and demands that he give him her camera. The thing is, Natalie is unsure why this handsome stranger is enraged with her. Frankly, she thinks she is being mugged. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, Luke realizes that Natalie has no idea that he is a famous actor (or was one) and she really was taking pictures of the scenery. Needless to say, the man becomes intrigued. So ensues the beginnings of their sweet romance. Luke loves the fact that Natalie is not with him due to his fame and fast becomes smitten with this beautiful sassy woman. Natalie also falls fast and hard for the charming and utterly gorgeous man who has her heart beating faster. This book has no external drama or bad guy. No cheating, major stupidity, long separations or anything will make you threaten bodily harm. Its solely focused on the romance between Luke and Natalie! Their story is incredibly steamy and this is an erotic romance that has a lot of sex scenes. So, what made it 4 stars instead of 5? A few times I wanted to roll my eyes because of how unrealistic some parts were but this is fictional romance so I have no right to complain. I felt their relationship progressed super sonic fast. And lastly, and this might sound weird, but some parts of the story just felt a little ‘too’ perfect at times. Too many endearments, too many 'perfect' scenes. However, this book was still a gem! The characters were fantastic! I feel like the author put a lot of time into writing the perfect details, details that you actually want to know, not boring ones. I'm really looking forward to the other books in the series! If you love steamy romance without excess drama, then definitely add this book. Can't wait to enjoy the next book, Fight With Me!
This is a must read for every married woman who has ever had children :) Love Issac and Stacy, this is a good short an a nice look into a great secon..Show More »dary couple from the previous book. The Jennifer Mack's voice for Issac is painful but I'd still recommend the book.
Fight With Me is the second book in the Seattle series by Kristen Proby and it is the love story of Jules and Nate. I gotta say that while I enjoyed t..Show More »he first book, this one is far better. I loved it! Fight With Me is a must listen for every romantic soul. It is heart-warming, full of swoon moments and a whole lot of sizzling scenes. We first met Jules in Come Away With Me, book one in the series, as Natalie’s roommate and best friend. Jules comes off as a feisty and independent woman who lives her life for her and takes what she wants. Nate is Jules’ boss and he is someone that ignites every cell in her body and sets her on fire. The problem is that the law firm both Nate and Jules work for has a strict no fraternization policy. Nate and Jules have one incredible night of passion which scares Jules. Unwilling to deal with the regret over the incredible night, Jules ends up sneaking off while Nate is asleep and then ignores him in the following weeks until he stops trying to talk to her about that one night. For eight months Jules and Nate have managed to keep it strictly professional pretending that nothing ever happened between them. Nate becomes sick and tired of not having what he wants and he wants Jules. Have I mentioned how delicous Nate is...let's just say... tattoos, gray eyes, ex-UFC fighter, a piercing, now a senior partner in a law firm.... um....YUM! He decides to take matters into his own hands and has Jules come into his office one day. There he makes her an irresistible offer. Nate asks Jules to spend the entire weekend with him, with no strings attached, in order for them to get to know one another better. Jules does not have enough strength in her to turn Nate down. So ensues the beginning of their secret and steamy romance. Jules and Nate were simply perfect for one another. Nate pursues Jules with a relentless determination. This book is the perfect blend of sweet & sexy. If you’re looking for a truly perfect HEA; you’re going to devour this book.
We meet Meg McBride briefly towards the end of Fight With Me. She has a brief encounter with Jules & Will where she expresses some serious animosity t..Show More »owards Will. In the beginning of Play With Me you quickly learn why Meg is hostile towards him. Will is one of the four Montgomery brothers who all seem to be made from the sexy gene pool. He is a hot quarterback who can be a famous arrogant butt at times but when push comes to shove, Will is actually sweet and protective. Will is essentially living his dream as a football star. He's worked hard to get where he is and life for him is all about the game. That is, until he meets Megan McBride. Meg takes him by surprise when she instantly rejects him upon their first encounter. I loved Meg as a heroine. She is a woman who loves a sexy car, has a tattoo, used to sing in a rock band. To me, she was so genuine. She is a nurse working at the Seattle Children's Hospital in the cancer ward. She has a difficult job, but she loves it and she works hard. She gave up her career as a singer/musician when her best friend Leo moved to L.A. leaving her behind. Meg has had to overcome a harsh childhood and has dealt with the people who she has loved most in the world abandoning her. She definitely has trust issues not readily opening her heart to anyone. Will challenges her and even though she had a hard time voicing her feelings for him, he was simply too hard to resist. Will pulls out all the stops and this is wonderfully romantic and, as always, gave me the warm and fuzzies and is full of goofy grin loveliness. This story is hopeful, beautiful, compelling and it’s full of humor, passion, compassion and uplifting happiness. It’s paced beautifully allowing time for the relationship to believably develop, giving Meg chance to slowly reveal the reasons behind her doubts & for Will to fully understand how to help her heal. Kristen Proby has once again provided a very romantic tale with little angst and a whole lot of holy hotness. I love the fact that we get to catch up with the other couples from the previous books and get glimpses as to the other characters for future books. I am hooked.
First, It will be a more beneficial if you complete the series in order. Rock With Me is the 4th book in 'With Me in Seattle' series. This story is a..Show More »bout Leo Nash, front man of the world famous rock group named Nash, and Samantha Williams, Luke's sister. Leo Nash has made it big in the music industry. He has it all so it seems. When he decides to go back to Seattle to see his long time "sister", Meg, he meets Samantha Williams. Leo is quickly intrigued by this sarcastic, gorgeous and witchy woman. Samantha is no stranger to the lives of the rich and famous. After all, her brother is Luke Williams. She has been terribly hurt in the past by the price of fame which has made her standoffish and unapproachable. She doesn't show many people that under her tough exterior lies a compassion and caring woman who is simply scared to take any more chances on love. Meeting Leo Nash has all her red flags on high alert. But damn is he is not hard to stay away from. Leo was the perfect mixture of sexy, bad-ass and sweet. I absolutely loved how Leo saw past Sam's walls and saw something worth fighting for in her. As the barriers Sam has erected slowly begin to come down, we see how perfect they are for one another. We do learn that Leo was raised from foster to foster house, and has some major trust issues as well. But together, they overcome their past so they can have a future they both crave, and deserve. The author again provided us with a book full of hot and steamy scenes as well as a tender and heart-felt romance. The romance between Leo & Sam was simply heart-fluttering. It was nothing over the top....just perfect.
Okay, I'm going to be honest with you, I liked this book BUT it felt like it was lacking a few things. Don't get me wrong, the book has plenty of roma..Show More »nce and the characters are well liked, the story is original & well written with a good pace. This is the 5th book in the series but it's the first audible has released. It can be treated as a stand alone but I occasionally felt a bit lost with the other secondary characters. Regardless, it doesn't hinder from story. This book is Brynn & Caleb's story which begins with Brynn being in danger after accidentally seeing the men that murdered her ex-husband. Unfortunately, not being able to provide a description of the suspects means that she doesn't qualify for the witness protection, this forces Brynn to count on the support of her family to keep her and her two twins daughters safe. That’s when Caleb enters, one of the hot bunch of Montgomery brothers and an ex-Navy SEAL, takes charge in his alpha male protective role to ensure that Brynna and her two girls, Maddie and Josie are safe from any threats. Caleb is gruff, fiercely protective of his family, has a dark/slightly tortured side, and hides a heart of gold behind a gruff exterior. It becomes obvious that Brynn & Caleb both want each other & have been wanting each other for a long time. The sexual tension and chemistry between Brynna and Caleb are off the charts. So, when they have to live together in the same house, things start to change and neither of them can really stop it. But soon Caleb's past military wounds become roadblocks in their future happiness. I found parts of this story lacked depth and we got short changed with the danger & suspense. Overall, I liked the story and it met with most of my romance novel requirements: a strong lead heroine, a HOT alpha male, humor and heart warming banter between characters, super hot sex (believe me when I say there was no shortage of SEX scenes), and of course a happily ever after ending. It would have been nice if Audible had released the other 4 books in the series first.
