Wow, just wow! First, let me say that at the time of this review this book is under $4 for a full length book! Then let me say, I would have gladly ..Show More »paid $30 for it!
I will warn you, this IS erotica, the entire book was a dance of emotionally charged getting to know you hot hot hot graphic graphic graphic steam! This book is mostly from the viewpoint of the female Dom Mistress Violet. The author lets you into the Dom's head in what she is thinking and feeling while trying to break in a new sub, Mackenzie. Mac is not a typical sub...he's all alpha male hard ass cop...but he is wired to want to be controlled in the bedroom. He knows in his heart he is a sub, but no Mistress has ever fully broken him and he has never willingly surrendered.
Seeing into the mindset of a Dom was fascinating. Watching this story unfold was riveting! I did feel that the narrator took too many diction lessons...a bit curt with her enunciations but it didn't detract from the story too much. Listening to how a Dom/sub relationship is forged was really enlightening and entertaining. If you like erotica even a little then this should be an automatic download for you. There was passion, chemistry, hot scenes, a murder mystery, and a keep you guessing till the end plot. It had me at minute one! Just hit add to cart!
Joey W Hill and Maxine Mitchell=A Winning Combination
Wow...just wow. I've been a fan of Joey W. Hill's books and this series is one of my favorites. Mistress Marguerite and Master Tyler are two of the ..Show More »most engaging characters. So much breadth and depth. Joey not only writes greats characters but also superb storylines. Maxine Mitchell is an outstanding narrator. She has strength and grace and she lends a lot of credibility to the series.
This is a GAY romance and it's narrated by a woman. I am seriously disappointed in this audible book. I Love this story, I was so looking forward to..Show More » having this in my audible library as well as my ebook library. I have read it many time - Its one of my all time favorite Gay Romance novels. Hell, its one of my all time favorite romance novels regardless of genre. A go-to read when I want a pull your heartstrings romance with HEA. And I just can't listen to a woman read it, I could just weep. I do understand having the same narrator for a series when the same lead characters are the main in each book, but the same narrator just because the Author grouped the books as a series is totally ridiculous! Joey's complete series is a number of different couples and their relationship, but somebody decided because it was a "series" they only needed one narrator. Sigh........Didn't anybody take the time to find out what the story line was before contracting the narrator? I love this story so much that I tried to overcome a woman's voice reading for male characters, but I could not take it. I will be asking for my money back. I hope that Audible will realize their error and will re-release this book with a male narrator. I will gladly repurchase if that ever happens.
Hot! I was enthralled through the entire book. This is one of the best books I've listened to in a while. I loved the narrator. To me it was as ..Show More »though the author and the narrator collaborated together to create a stunning effect. The narrator's performance was bold and unapologetic which completely sucked me in.
The locker room scene was border line over the top. My response went from stunned amazement to embarrassed laughter. But I seriously have to hand it to the two women who put that scene together, the author and the narrator. I wonder if delivering these scenes with such conviction is a cake walk for the narrator or something she has to work at. Either way, Joey and Maxine both have my admiration!
