If you listen to this book you will know why I said it is corny! and it really is. Not only that, it is terrible. I agree with the previous review, th..Show More »at it is disjointed. It is also not really a medical mystery, although characters are MD's. Also a forced romantic part and a silly politcal angle. I can't believe Palmer wrote this.
Medical mysteries are not usually my preference, however Dr. Welcome does not seem to fit into a medical mystery. He is more of a detective. I find hi..Show More »m to be a very likable character along with Cap his AA sponsor. I enjoyed this book and I will try the next one.
I reserve 4-Stars and 5-Stars for the "I can't put them down page turners" This is not in that category, but I did find it an interesting premise.
That's an old term for a guy who is all muscle and no brain. Unsubtle. Obvious.
To that add 'verbose'. The author blabs on and on and on abou..Show More »t absolutely pointless details. You might think, "Oh, but he's establishing the scene, the feel, adding richness to the story." You would be wrong. He had an amazing ability to tell us things we do not care about at all.
There is no "richness" to this story. This book is the rare example of a book that I did not finish. My wife tried, too. She quit.
Maybe "ham fisted" says too much. Perhaps the review should have been title, Sucks.
