after listening to the first 2 chapters i went back to look at the other reviews to decide if it was worth finishing. the narration and the story lin..Show More »e were painful, but i agree with the other reviewers that the story does get better making it easy to overlook that as you get into the book. the heroine made me cringe early in but she did redeem herself. i will probably look into the second book in the series.
I've listened to all three books in this series. My favorite was the second. I found this one to be the most disappointing. The story was a little ..Show More »too unbelievable for my taste (I realize this is a taste issue) and frankly not that interesting. I also find the narrator's voice for the main character a little too whiney (again a taste issue). It seemed to me that the first two involved more character development and better plot. And the idea that a father-in-law would suggest that his son might have left his daughter-in-law because she hadn't lost the last ten pounds after giving birth to twins made him a most unlikable and unsympathetic character.
