I am a long time audio book listener. This is my first review. I am very impressed. It is easy to love the two main characters. There is a wonderf..Show More »ul story, a family you can believe, "family values" that are real and have been tested. There is love, romance and some wonderful sex. It is a full service story. Marie Force seems to be a relatively new author and I predict we will see a lot of her soon.
I hope she keeps Sam and Nick around for a very long time. I am hooked.
Read them in order.
The combination of the Washington political scene, hunt for a vicious killer and developing personal relationships provides a multi level story which..Show More » holds one's interest. It may be helpful to listen to the two preceding books since they provide background which supports this book...or consider just the last one Fatal Justice as a start. Each book adds to the richness and complexity of the main characters ...and each gets better and better.
For me, Fatal books are one's to savor. Even if I get an ARC, I still wait because once I finish it, that's it for a while, I'm done. So I like to tak..Show More »e my time, read slow and really ENJOY the time I get to spend with Sam, Nick and the whole Fatal crew. Yes, it did only take me a day to read this last installment, but every hour was soooooo worth the wait.
Fatal Deception sucks you into the plot from the first chapter and has you on a roller coaster ride of suspense until the very end. I had so much fun reading this book, I wished I could be Sam for the day...Sometimes her job can be SO MUCH FUN!!
The emotions were running high, the sexual chemistry between Nick and Sam was OFF THE CHARTS HOT, and we have some great new characters ready to stir up some action. I will say that I did kind of fall a little in love with FBI Agent Avery Hill, I really enjoyed being able to get into his head and I do hope that Marie finds him a soul mate...he really is the "heart stealer" of the book.
There are so many things that I want to say, but I hate giving ANYTHING away, especially to my tasty readers who are HUGE Fatal Fans. All I will say is that you won't be able to get enough, especially when Nick takes charge...oh baby...just you wait!! And the end, if the "letter" doesn't have you tearing up, then a certain conversation will have you reaching for a tissue.
Marie, I love this series, and I guess we can thank Baby Sofia for being stubborn and not wanting to come out, that I was able to read and review Fatal Deception. I am so excited for what you have in store for us next, and I will be a Fatal Fan For Life!!
Sam and Nick return home late one evening to find her niece, Brooke, naked, wrapped in a sheet, bruised, covered in blood and unconscious on their doo..Show More »rstep. She was supposed to be at the school for troubled girls in Richmond. As Sam tries to figure out what happened to her, it's soon clear that Brooke was somehow connected with a disturbing homicide at the home of one of her teenager friends.
This was a tough, heartbreaking story, at times hard for me to take in. It's well done and highlights some of the troubling issues our teens face today. Sam's involvement in the investigation skirted that fine line between acceptable and conflicting interests and I'm not sure she always stayed on the right side of it.
While there is other drama going on, Brooke's situation was the one that had me riveted. The ending was exciting with lots of unanswered questions. And, Nick and Sam have to make some life altering decisions. Still loving this series.
Eva Kaminsky did an outstanding job with the delivery of the story.
I love it, I can't wait to see what happens next. this story need to continue, I'm so in love with it. and Eva make it so much fun I love her as narra..Show More »ted. Please Marie don't stop there I need more. Thank you
