I like long, engaging audio books, but this one was mostly just long without being very engaging. Although I knew this was a 'series,' when I bought it, I regret that instead of 3 satisfying stories that enhance each other, the series is just one long, slow-moving story cut into thirds, with little effort to make each book tell a satisfying story that could be interesting even if it had to stand on its own. If I hadn't already bought the concluding book in the series, I would not even bother listening to it...and I still might not bother.
