I enjoyed this audiobook of "AnEye For Murder". Good plot, strong protagonist; single parent with teen trouble, an aging parent, a bum of an ex and t..Show More »rying to keep her own business going. I could totally relate to Ellie-we even share the first name of Eleanor!
I liked the narration by Karen o'Bryant-she did a good job of Jewish-American accent, got the intonation of the words frequently used by a German-Jew down pat.
The plot was tight with light romantic interludes-mostly focused on the mystery part.
I plan on continuing listening to the series..Libby Hellmann is a great author with an ability to bring the reader/listener in.
I'm living the Libby Hellmann books about video maker Ellie Foreman and her in ability to keep out of police business!
The plot rambles som..Show More »e and there were loose strings left that bothered me, however the story is an exciting one with tense times.
I don't want to get into the story because it would be a spoiler - leave it to say that the narration by Beth Richmond was great, the story line exciting and were I reading it it would be a real page turner..as it was, I did listen all day and forgot about TV during the evening to finish it up.
I'm especially enjoying Ellies dad...he's a character, and her teen age daughter. Ellie has the ability to get involved in the most bazaar of situations.
Well worth your credit for the listen. I hope the series continues to be as exciting and well done.
Ms. Hellman is not just an author, she is a story weaver!! She takes pieces of people’s lives-- through varied time periods and physical locations-- ..Show More »and entwines them into a riveting tale of murder, intrigue, relationships, hopes, and dreams. The main story begins when Ellie Foreman, the lead character, receives an anonymous video of a young woman being murdered in Chicago and finds herself drawn into trying to help solve this case. Ms. Hellman pulls threads from the past…the crumbling Soviet Union, international diamond trade, greed, corruption, and the human price that is paid along the way. There are a number of supporting characters and time periods in the story and Ms. Hellman masterfully weaves them all together to create a book that I didn't want to put aside and that held my complete interest from start to finish. I love Ms. Hellman’s writing style and admire her storytelling abilities! Last, but certainly not least, the narrator (Robin Rowan) was easy to listen to and was a definite asset to this audiobook. I highly recommend it!
