The characters are shallow, Except Gage, and the story line is adequate. It makes you wnat to find out what's next, but it never enthrals you.
I will read whatever he writes next though. I love books, and the author is good enough for me to purchase his wares.

Leon Martel a renegade police man kidnaps Harry and the adventure is on. Description of Caribbean and the period are excellent. The battle and fight scenes, even the storm at sea are perfect that you don't get lost in the action. John Pruden does a real good job with the voices and narrates this book in the series without missing a beat. Could be the best of the series. Well worth sticking with the series.

You should read them all as close together as possible. Napoleon has changed and Ethan Gage is still trying in this book and succeeding to a point but he is a pawn in powerful men & women plans. His wife is more intelligent, son the same, Sir Sydney Smith less caring and tNelson does not come off looking too brilliant in this book but nice to see a different interpretation of the man for a change. I loved this book and have grown to like William Dietrich writings, William Dufris narration and Ethan Gage adventures. Don't start with this book but don't miss it.
