This one does. He knows the pain of betrayal but while it has made him cautious it hasn't made him bitter. He is forced to prove himself, redeem his family's heritage while avoiding dying or becoming a permanent resident in the High King's Asylum for Noble Embarrassments. There is also a bit of humor in all the right places and a hint of romance that might show up in the next book in the series. Also I loved the narration itself. Way to go Joe Manganiello. This is an audiobook that I'll be listening to again
