But she was not suited for this story. She made Vera sound like a stuck up ice queen that bore no resemblance to the lovable character from FlipSide of the Game and Game Over. Well, maybe that wasn't all Turpin's fault. I love Whitaker's writing and her way of building drama but it's becoming too predictable. Or maybe I've lost the desire for black drama that perpetuates the mad black woman stereotype.

I mean several things said about the characters, in this book, such as appearance, personality, life story/history didn't match with what was said in a prior book. (For example- Milan says she's never been bigger than a size 10 - huh? In the first book Evan was VERY outspoken about how big Milan was.- I guess she could be delusional but it came off as a complete lack of cohesion with the other books. And Vera was dramatic in the prior book but she wasn't Ghetto- I could go on but WHY)
