I have always loved books about dragons. I've read the Pern series, the DragonKnight books, The Dragon Prince series, etc., so I am no stranger to the..Show More »se types of books. Lately however, I had wandered away from these books to explore other nooks and crags of the literary world. Nothing has drawn me in like the books I read in my youth. So, in a desperate night of searching audible for an enjoyable, enthralling listen I stumbled upon Dragon Champion.
First off, let me be clear here in that I have yet to finish the listen (I'm about 3/4 of the way through) but have already downloaded the second book in the series!
It has rekindled my love for these books. I listen to this book in the morning as soon as I awake and get ready for my day and at night as I am winding down. The story is gripping and the narration superb.
If your a dragon lover like I am (as I write this I have 5 dragon figurines on my desk watching over me) go ahead and spring for the download, your inner dragon will break free and soar!
I think my favorite parts were the ones where there was some reference to the first book in the series, I liked feeling Wistala's hope and happiness w..Show More »hen she heard any sort of rumor about her brother.
Scatter brained dragons, cause for scattered story
Although this book is a good listen, when I compare it to the previous books I am left with a little disappointment. Weather the author intended it o..Show More »r not, the characters came across to me as a little scatter brained or ditsy. My initial view of dragons was one of a being that is very intelligent, and driven by instinct. To me this book portrays them as that and as beings that cant make up their mind on what side to take.
The story a good one, I feel that it just needs better character development at this stage.
Not unlike reading a story about the Roman empire.
This was a good story. My opinion from the last book of dragons being a little scatter brained has been put aside. The intrigue, plotting, and polit..Show More »icking of the various clans kept me wanting to read more. The Performance in this book is out standing. I honestly believe David Drummond is a key factor in making these audio books a success.
This book feels hurried, flat and lacks the depth and color of the others. The ending was rushed and, in my opinion, ridiculous.
You might a..Show More »s well read, er.. listen to it though because if you are reading this review you have likely already gone through the rest of the series. Even though this book is not at all in the class of the first three or four books, this is the only ending we are going to get so you might as well go ahead and finish it out.
If you don't expect much, you won't be disappointed.
