Other reviews will use words like hot, or sizzling, or steamy, and all those words are true. What they may not mention is this book also has real hear..Show More »t. It's laugh out loud funny in places, and heartbreaking, and heart-warming.
Backstage Pass is most of all, a love story. Romance with a capital "R". Two very real, wonderfully three dimensional people with histories, and baggage, and hang-ups, who come together for a night of hot sex and find themselves in love. And one of them is going to resist that feeling with everything they've got. Their journey, played out against the background of a rock tour and all the accompanying insanity of that, makes me glad I got to go along for the ride.
Ms. Cunning does an outstanding job of weaving in the music, and making the concert scene--in all its grungy reality--come alive for the reader. It's a fresh, original concept, handled beautifully by someone who knows how to write extraordinarily well, and whose love of the music comes through in every scene.
She's also introduced larger than life characters who are secondary in this first book of the Sinners on Tour series, but who will each have their turn to take centre stage in the subsequent books. I can hardly wait. Imagine me, standing here in the dark, my lighter raised high, screaming for an encore!
Justine O. Keef did a great job in the delivery of the story. This really one of my favourite audio books I will listen again. Please, please Audible more of the Sinners on tour.
If you've listened to book 1 then you know what's contained within these Sinners on Tour books about the members of a rock band. There's fellowship, ..Show More »romance, hot n heavy sexy love scenes, interesting likeable characters, humour, passion and well written heart wrenching plots that are each an addictive listen.
This one is about heartthrob lead singer Sed who stumbles across his ex fiancee and true love Jessica who's working as an erotic dancer in a Club in Las Vegas and the result are explosive. Sed, a tortured, damaged but very likeable and drool-worthy character (by us girlies anyway) wants to change and is determined to win her back so tries everything (all say ahhhhh) but Jessica had her heart broken by him so has other plans. I tried but failed to like her character in the beginning and, as a result, I just couldn't empathize with her (but stick with her) as I eventually warmed to her much later in the story.
I love romance books and feel sex scenes can easily have their places within them but I did find there was a bit of over-indulgence and gratuitous scenes which became just plain boring.
Worth a credit? Yes absolutely and I'm counting the days until book 3 Double Time (which is Trey's turn for love) is added to Audible and then Hot Ticket (Eric's story) which is released in February.
I could go on about how sexy, vulnerable and loveable the characters are or about how very very hot the plot was and I could add that it was filled wi..Show More »th surprises, shocks, thrills, highs and lows, laughs, and funny one liners. All this was put together seamlessly by a gifted author then brought magically to life by the many voices of the narrator which will have you believing you are there sharing and caring about all the Sinners band members and their families.
But all I will say is press the 'Add To Cart' button now, do whatever you do whilst listening and enjoy.
But what a great journey it was - full of passionate mentally tortured men and women desperately trying to fit together, overcome some terrible obstac..Show More »les (and people) all in the frantic hope of keeping hold of their chosen lovers.
Eric and Rebekah were such likeable characters who hit it off from the start (with the help from Trey) as they were both quirky and had the same interests (and hairdo's) but both were so vulnerable too because of their sex issues. However, they help each other to heal and overcome their different problems in such a sweet, caring, funny, sexy and passionate way. They never gave up - despite a crazy Mom, a crazier ex boyfriend as well as the threat of Cancer but together they proved they were meant to be together.
Great series, fantastic book, really HOT HOT HOT listen, with a bit of a recap of the other members and finally what Eric said to Rebekah near the end when the threat was back was just soooo tender and touching.
Worth a credit? YES for this book and YES YES YES YES for all the others.
If you've listened to any of the other Sinners books then you already know that they are a H H HOT listen.
This has tormented souls, denial, ..Show More »the usual M/F M/F/M but it also has some very erotic M/M action so if you're not really into that sort of action then pass on this book. I didn't really connect with the story as much as I did with the others perhaps because there was too much sex and not enough feelings to their romance and everything just happened so quickly.
There wasn't much interaction with the other band members either which previously brought this series to life and made it more 'brotherly' and humorous.
Worth a credit? Yes, as I'm really into all the band members and can't wait until Eric (Sticks) finally gets his turn at romance but unfortunately I don't think that wlil be until Aug/Sept.
