William Gaminara narrates all of the Tripod books, and he does a good job reading the story and distinguishing the boys from one another with various accents.

I read the prequel "When the Tripods Came" right after this in order to finish off the series.

I read When the Tripods Came right after listening to the Tripod Trilogy. The prequel was good, but I expected more after reading the epic adventures..Show More » in the trilogy. I still enjoyed this book, especially how the "Trippie" cult came about and how the Masters gained control over the planet. This one definitely does not have the character development of the trilogy, and I found myself not really caring about the characters at all. William Gaminara does as good of a job as on the other three books. Have a listen to this one to complete your Tripod readings if you're a fan!
