Not as good as Lincoln Rhyme but a very nice story with some good twists, but felt like the author was trying to hard at the end. got too much at the ..Show More »end, story could have finished a half hour earlier
I've listened to a couple of Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme novels and have always found them better to read than to listen to. I enjoyed The Sleepin..Show More »g Doll more than his previous books and he did a good job of fleshing out the main characters. There were times I thought the story was tedious - the constant references to other people's body language got on my nerves (I get it - she's an expert in kinesics and I don't need an explanation for every gesture a character makes). I also though the story grew tedious at times when the author would wallow in the details of everything the characters were doing (she went home, she cooked dinner, etc.) and it seemed to slow the action. I enjoyed the fact that Deaver wrote a novel specifically for Katherine Dance, but warning those of you who chose books for length and author, this bo..Show More »ok is about 12 hours long with an abridged copy of "The Blue Nowhere" tacked onto the end as "part 3".
Don't get me wrong, "The Blue Nowehere" was a good book and it shows a progression in computers but a.) I hate abridged books and b.) When I am going on a trip I sometimes choose a book from my wishlist based as much on length as on topic or author. Shame on you audible for at least not warning me.
