I thought this book was just ok. I really like historical romance but the one think that can be really annoying is that they can take a really long t..Show More »ime to get throgh a simple plot just to rush the ending. This book was no exception. The plot was so simple that you could write the story yourself. I did like the narrator. She made the Character come alive. This book will keep entertain as long as you want it to be the background noise. If you are looking for a story that will get your mind involved...This is not the book for you. Later :)
I really enjoyed this book. JF's romance novels have not only the requisite romance we want, they have wonderful story lines. All of her books catch ..Show More »your attention from the beginning and hold onto you until the very end. The characters are engaging and the author's background in the social sciences is evident by her in-depth character personality development. After reading the first book in this trilogy I couldnt wait to see how Jasper's younger twin brothers would meet their "brides of questionable repute". Half-way through this book I went on-line to see if Audible had the last book in the trilogy. I was so disappointed to find it is not listed. I went to the authors web site and discovered this book was just released in July 2011, so perhaps Ms. Feather has not yet written the third book in the trilogy. I hope she won't make her fans wait! One thing I did discover though, is there are MANY Jane Feather books on Amazon available for the kindle I would like to see available on Audible. Come on Audible, please get more of this fantastic authors books!
I love Jane Feather's books, I think she writes a great romance filled with intrigue and deep human emotions. I looked forward to this third book afte..Show More »r reading the first two and it was as good as the first two but I'm sorry Jill Tanner is not my favorite narrator. I don't want to be mean as she has excellent skills as a narrator but as a romance narrator she comes off as sterile and cold, very unromantic. I can think of many other genres she could read for an be incredible but in this one area I just can't connect with the story when she reads. This is the 4th book I have had to abandon because her sterile reading just causes me to lose interest. I end up buying the book and picking it up where I left off because I just can't finish listening. It might just be me, but I would recommend future listeners to take advantage of the preview button before purchasing to see if you can stand 6 hours of the droning Jill Tanner delivers. Sorry Jill.
