I really enjoyed this one, lots of angst and tension and the characters are intriguing. Like most first in series books it was the secondary characters that kept catching my attention and I can't wait for their turn in the spotlight. The parts that stood out for me where Jazz, having cast a female in a typically male profession and having her succeed was inspirational. The Montgomery family on a whole, I enjoyed the glimpses into their lives an their interactions and Joy. I enjoyed her presence in the story.
I found Emily Durante to be just ok with the delivery of the story. Nick Podehl read one of the other books in the series and he was much better. i hope they stick him in future books.
Having said that I was entertained and overall the book scored a sold 4 stars.
I was usually save my credits for more expensive books, but I'm glad I got this one, it's a sweet story with lots of emotion, If your looking for hot ..Show More »sex, keep looking, but if you want a satisfying story with a great narrator this is it. I will be looking for more from this author! One thing though, it's a bit unbelievable how much havoc one lady and a kid can wreak on one mans life. I think I would have told her to get lost several times along the way! but if you can suspend belief as easily as I can It's an enjoyable read.
