As usual a top flight job the team of Cussler, Du Brul and Brick! Problem is that it's the 2005 CD's put together for audible; they didn't even edit o..Show More »ut the CD headers! I mean it's all brain candy, but I have the CD's somewhere. Still an enjoyable escape!
I have only just started reading Clive Cussler. Tumbled onto him by accident.... I always thought he wrote stuff like Louis L'Amour -- boy, was I wr..Show More »ong. I have THOUROUGHLY enjoyed this series (Juan Cabrillo) and can't get enough now.
Terrific, interesting, fast-paced, great characters - just wonderful. Of course, Scott Brick brings the characters to life so well....
Cussler books are usually a good get away from it all book. Most books start off with an item of ancient history then into the modern world with the ..Show More »discovery of the item etc. This one was a bit different. But as with all Cussler books the Oregon crew no sooner got out of one problem then into another one. The action, the impossible escapes are all the fun of the book and toss in a bit of humor and you have a good break in your day. One thing always come through in Cussler's books, education and knowledge is important, all his people have exceptional intelligence and skills. In this book Captain Juan Cabrillo of the Oregon find a cruise ship with all the passengers and crew dead. It is a virus like the Ebola virus and was murder. The crew of the Oregon hunt down the Responsivists who are responsible and about ready to loss a modification of the virus on half the population of the earth to make them sterile. How they solve the problem--read the book.
This is a really action packed book. I really enjoy Cussler but at some points this was a bit much. Juan did some things that make James Bond look lik..Show More »e an amateur. All that being said, if you like Cussler's style and the Oregon Files series, you'll love this. If you haven't read any of the series but like action/espionage you won't be disappointed.
Once again, you're on the edge of your seat! Clive Cussler with Jack DuBrul have chemistry that really works! Scott Brick is the right choice for all ..Show More »of Mr.Cussler's tales!!! I'm a avid Cussler fan and just can't get enough of the Oregon files, or anything else he has to offer to the audio books library. As for the way the story ends, it just leaves you wanting and needing more, soon! If your want excitement, here it is, The Silent Sea won't disappoint you. Thanks again Clive Cussler for continuing to bring audio listeners to the edge and back!!!
This is another hit for Cussler. The story follows his typical, high-tech thriller-mixed-with-history pattern. However, a different narrator on this ..Show More »book, cools my enthusiasm somewhat. Scott Brick, who narrated all the others we have listened to, adds so much to the quality of the book, and although Jason Culp does an adequate job, he doesn't come up to Brick's standard by a long way.
This is the 5th of the Oregon Files books with Juan Cabrillo and his crew on the Oregon. It's jammed packed with adventure, intregue and betrayal. Set..Show More » in the rainforest of Burma then to the jungles of northern Thailand and Myanmar. The stroy has you rivitted as with Juan nothing is ever easy and the fight scenes are great. I loved the ending and wonder what the next storyline will be with Juan having someone watching his every move in cyberspace. I really like Jason Culp as the narrrator he puts so much into the characters he is portraying fantastic to listen to.
Great narration by Scott Brick. Clive Cussler did it again. I really enjoy his books because of the excitement from beginning to end. He is definitely..Show More » my favorite author. I can hardly wait til next book comes out. I love when Juan Cabrillo turned the tide and the antagonist received his just reward. While reading or listening to Clive Cussler's books you are sure to expect clean decent stories that are not padded with sexual content or cussing or obscene language. Thanks Mr. Cussler.
