It's like the whole book is here because it's almost 10 hrs long, the only thing is the Christopher Frost in the book is Amelia's old fiance' and he p..Show More »ops up throughout the entire book and is a problem in the end. In this version Amelia meets Christopher Frost in the last hour of the narrated book and only knows him as one of her brother's friends. The story is a great story, but without it being read how it truly is written it comes up just a tad bit lacking. When you've read it you expect it, but those of you haven't read the book, it does not deter from the story and you will enjoy it very much. I just found it odd....
Seduce Me at Sunrise is the second book in the Hathoway's series, and it is a book you will not want to put down. I would definitely recommend it to ..Show More »any of my adult friends. Lisa has a gift for developing very likable characters, that as a reader, you begin to invest your time in getting to know. I love this family of misfits! They are precious, and funny, and loyal. They love each other as a family should, with "warts and all".
You will definitely want to begin with the first book in the series, "Mine Till Midnight", where you will first be introduced to the Hawthorn family, and learn the story of Amelia, the oldest Hawthorn sister and Cam, a wonderfully exotic man who is half gypsy, and half Irish. Their story will capture your attention, and lead you to Seduce Me at Sunrise, where we learn about Winn, Hawthorn sister #2, and Kev. I just downloaded the third book in the series and plan to begin tonight.
Rosalyn Landor is always an amazing performer. I have downloaded several books (including those by Lisa Kleypas) based on the fact that Rosalyn would be the reader. Her voices are amazing and realistic. I have enjoyed each book I have downloaded where she read.
This series of books will provide a full well-rounded experience of emotions. The reader is immediately captivated by the clearity of the descriptions, whether it be a character or setting, and with each word, the books are more difficult to put down.
So far Tempt Me At Twilight is my favorite Hathaway story. Although based on the reviews for book 4 that might change. I love the Hathaway family. ..Show More »They are witty and fun and always make me laugh. This is a fun/easy listen and Rosalyn Landor is excellent! I would suggest starting with book 1 first, but this would make a great stand alone story as well.
I love the Hathaways and I’ve been cheering for Leo ever since book one. His journey throughout the entire series has been wonderful to read. Now th..Show More »at he finally has his act together he can go after the girl of his dreams (or at least the one who frustrates and excites him the most). Catherine Marks is his perfect match in every way and now he must convince her of the same. I love their interactions and how they grow to emotionally want and need each other. This is definitely a different side of Leo.
The Hathaway family is an unconventional family for the time, 1850s England, filled with love and amusement toward and with each other. This book is t..Show More »he fifth/last in the family series, featuring the youngest sister Beatrix. Beatrix loves animals and rescuing animals, so she has added a menagerie of pets to the Ramsey House which ramble about in the story adding many laughs. Beatrix falls in love with Captain Phelan, through a deceptive correspondance while he is in the Crimean War. Great history on this war and the affects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. LK writes dialogue between characters with much humor. She also makes the possessive love relationships endearing for all characters. Like all the Hathaways the love relationship is electric. Yet, it is more than a love story, Love in the Afternoon, also takes the reader inside the grief cycle, family dynamics, abandonment issues, and commitment. There are many bumps in the road you appreciate but everything gets stitched together nicely by the last chapter. It is a sweet and fun read. The narrator does a great job too!
